The sequel to Shadow of Mordor.

If the game is half as good as the trailer, holy cow lol

From the Producers

"Middle-earth: Shadow of War™ is the sequel to the critically-acclaimed Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor™, winner of more than 50 industry awards—including the 2015 Game Developers Choice Awards’ Game of the Year, Outstanding Innovation in Gaming at the 2015 D.I.C.E. Awards and the BAFTA for Game Design. Developed by Monolith Productions, Middle-earth: Shadow of War features an original story with the return of Talion and Celebrimbor, who must go behind enemy lines to forge an army and turn all of Mordor against the Dark Lord, Sauron."

Below are the PC requirements for the game:

MINIMUM:

OS: Windows 7 SP1 with Platform Update for Windows 7
Processor: Intel i5- 2550K, 3.4 GHz
Memory: 8 GB RAM
Graphics: GeForce 670 | Radeon HD 7950
DirectX: Version 11
Network: Broadband Internet connection
Storage: 60 GB available space

RECOMMENDED:

OS: Windows 10 version 14393.102 or higher required
Processor: Intel Core i7-3770, 3.4 GHz
Memory: 16 GB RAM
Graphics: GeForce 970 or GeForce 1060 | Radeon R9 290X or Radeon RX 480
DirectX: Version 11
Storage: 60 GB available space

On a personal note regarding game genre: While some articles are classifying it as an RPG or Action RPG, from the sound of the story, "who must go behind enemy lines to forge an army and turn all of Mordor against the Dark Lord, Sauron" it sounds to me like it will play out as a Strategy RPG. The last game had some strategy elements in it as well, so it's not surprising that they would make this an army builder, but with 1 on 1 combat and such that directly impacts the outcomes.

OK. So, as if I'm not stoked enough about this game with the amazing trailer and I understand, that the game mechanics from the first one were not for everyone, plus this is somewhat of an alternative timeline in the LoTR world, but I had to point out, via this extremely long run-on sentence what viewers have caught after multiple viewings of the trailer video. In the linked image check out the portion circled in red to the lower left... evil

My precioussss...maybe?

If it is, wow, just wow.

It was a surprise to many. I usually get updates from Warner Bros., but didn't on this one. Apparently a certain retailer let the press kit info slip early, so as a result Warner Bros. was forced to release the video and announcement. Oops lol

Oops indeed. lol Although when you think about it, considering the number of people involved, I guess it's a bit surprising that this sort of thing doesn't happen more often!

This is the best news ever... The trailer just blew me away. I just hope I finish the first game in time for this one to be released!

Definitely "my precioussssss" in your screenshot!

Yeah, I know that the lore obsessed folks are just freaking out on the idea of a new ring of power and the return of the dark lord, but they must be pulling their hair out after seeing what appears to be Gollum watching the completion of the new ring. I think it's appropriate that his profile is surrounded by fire, considering his demise in the original story. I have always been a solid fan of Tolkien's work, but I'm not really bothered by the development of an alternative timeline, reminds me of what JJ Abrams did for Star Trek.

That Balrog though... lol I'm really interested to see if they explain why "he" appears. Personally I think that's just as thick with lore as the the rings of power, after all there were only 12, created directly after the elves and they all went into hiding. Could that one be the same one that confronted Gandalf? Gives me the shivers. evil

This makes me want to get out my books and read them all again... I've read them every bit of a dozen times, but it's probably been at least 15 years.

I also love the idea of expanding on the stories with an alternative timeline... just gives me more.
