Today's game for Club Members, tomorrow's game for all.

You can download 4 Aztec Skulls here.

Quote:
New, from the developers of the Roads of Rome series! The Queen once again calls upon Don Diego de León to fulfill an important mission. He must organize an expedition to the new land and appoint its leader to expand the discovered territories and replenish the treasury with gold. Upon arrival, the expedition meets locals who tell them about evil priests that are trying to summon a demon to subdue all known territories. To help, the Spaniards need to find 4 skulls that can cast a protective spell. Master Miguel Sanchez is chosen for this serious mission. Play as Adelantado to help him explore new territories, collect gold, and protect the locals.

Just curious: Are there any TM games at Big Fish that are not "cartoony" in presentation? Or is this something one should look for at another venue?

There may be some, but offhand I can't think of any. In spite of the cartoon graphics, however, some of these games are very challenging.

It's an enjoyable game made by the same developer as Roads of Rome and the gameplay is pretty much a Roads of Rome: New Generation clone. On the publisher's site it's marketed as a sequel to the Adelantado games and they got A LOT of flak over it because they completely changed the gameplay from those original three. I see they took off the Adelantado references on BF, probably hoping to avoid all that. If you go into it realizing what it is, just a nice, basic, TM Building Strategy game then you should get some enjoyment out of it.

Thank you for that helpful information, Anne. I was a bit disappointed that the game (I played the demo) wasn't like the Adelantado trilogy, but the Roads of Rome series is a good one and this game did remind me of those. wave

Hmmm. Sounds like I should look up Adelantado or Roads of Rome, instead. wink

The three Adelantado games are all very good. I would also recommend The Island: Castaway and The Island: Castaway 2. There's a lot going on in all those games: some adventure elements, some building, some strategy.

So, you jump in and figure it out as you go? It is not like buying a game in a box and having a manual with some start-up advice.

I was disappointed too, Marian. I got really excited to see it was a new Adelantado game but then I started to read the comments and realized what it was. Despite that, I did have fun playing this new one. I'm a pretty big fan of Roads of Rome, too.

Just jump in, Reenie. If I remember correctly, it should have a tutorial as you go along that helps show you what to do. smile
