I am having a ball playing this game. It is so relaxing and satisfying and I don't have to remember a storyline or what I am supposed to be looking for next.
Perfect for short breaks between relentless gardening.

It looks quite unusual and interesting. Just the thing for relaxing. I think I'll do the Trial and see. Thanks.

Reenie - did you do the Trial on this game? Just wondering what you think of it.

Yes, I did. It is lovely and the background music is relaxing. It is just like working a picture puzzle, only on a screen and in "Stained Glass." The puzzles have wildly irregular pieces, which is fun, and they give you a few pieces in the beginning of each puzzle that only fit in one place, so you easily can get started if you want that help. The designs are well done in each puzzle, and they are predominately symmetrical. I had no trouble at all figuring out how to select, manipulate and place the pieces. It runs smoothly and is well designed.

I did not buy the game yet, though, because I wasn't sure how many puzzles there actually were (I solved about 8 of them and wasn't even halfway through the Trial Game yet). The puzzles are very similar even though they are presented as "themed" to different areas of the world ~ Russia, Egypt, Greece, France, etc. So they are subtle in that regard. I did enjoy doing the puzzles but, because they were all so similar, I began to lose interest and stopped.

The game rates the difficulty of each puzzle on a scale of 1 to 5 (or 6; can't remember exactly). All the puzzles that are available at the beginning were rated either 3 or 4. I did not encounter any with the most difficult rating, nor with an easier rating. I expect (and hope!) there are harder ones as you go along, and I would love to tackle them, but I would not enjoy working any that turned out to be any "Easier" ones. I think I was more uneasy about stumbling onto puzzles that would be too easy to be fun that I didn't go for the game in the end.

I did put it on my List, though, as a "Maybe," I might go back at a later date, and buy it as part of a Two-for-One Sale. The puzzles would be a nice sort of thing to play as a One-a-Day sort of deal, when you wouldn't notice the repetitive nature of the puzzles so much.

Thanks for all that info Reenie. I have it on my list to buy, probably with the next 65% off sale. Probably not a game to just sit and play for too long at a time, but for when you just need a nice break, as you say so "you wouldn't notice the repetitive nature of the puzzles so much". This is why I like some mostly hog games; for when I just need a break but not to play straight through.

Hi Reenie
Just to let you know there are no puzzles easier than 3 and once you move from that start area the puzzles are all 4 or 5 rated in difficulty.

I forget how many puzzles there are but I thought the game was rather short and I wished there had been more.

I purchased this game, as I found it to be quite different from the usual fare, although similar in some respects to the puzzle games of the past. It's a bit peculiar, but easy to learn. What's not easy is figuring out the pieces based on their shape necessarily, mostly because of the theme of the game, that being stained glass, which has so many colors, shapes, sizes, swirls, and you name it what else. But it's so much fun, and relaxing, just as others have stated. I haven't completed the entire game yet, but one of the levels (countries) was rated at 2 stars (Sweden? I think?). Most of the others that I've encountered have been rated at 3-4 stars, but just as much fun to complete as any of the others. Some may just take longer, as they have more pieces. Music is friendly, and I haven't come across any major bugs yet either. It's just simple fun and relaxation. Two or three levels at a sitting is enough for me. And that's a good thing, because that way the game will last longer. :-)

Thanks for the heads up on this game, Marian. It truly is a beautiful and relaxing game. Unfortunately, it's too short to make a purchase worthwhile. That has been the major complaint about this game. I'm sure the developer would get more takers if they expanded the number of puzzles.

Yes, I've heard that its only shortcoming is that the game isn't long enough. Hopefully they will release another one like it. wave
