Once a game is purchased on Steam what is the correct way to install the game?
I bought 'King's Quest 2' - I already have 'King's Quest' and I can see it listed in my library as 'Not Installed' so what should I do next and what is DLC?
Thanks,
Robert

In your library, just select the game by clicking on it and there should be an install button towards the top. DLC is extra downloadable content.

"DLC" is "DownLoadable Content" It means it's not part of the base game and you have to pay extra for it. As far as I know, King's Quest Chapter 1 was free. At least that's what it says here http://store.steampowered.com/app/345390/If you want to install Chapter 2, you need Chapter 1 to be installed. If you already bought the King's Quest Season Pass, you already had Chapters 1 through 5 and didn't need "King's Quest Chapter 2"

I have KQ1 and in the Library list King's Quest is listed and when I click on it there isn't an install button near the top of the screen.
In the middle of the screen it shows both KQ games and KQ2 as being 'Added Today' and under 'Install' it indicates 'Not Installed' - no where do I see an install button.
I'm sure it's operator error but I don't know what it is.
Thanks for any help.

I am in "details" option which is what I described previously.
If I start the KQ game and select 'Chapter' it shows Chapter 2 as 'Download Now' which I do but it takes me to the Steam site and at the top I can see - in the far right corner - what looks like something running but no indication as to what is is exactly.
Sorry but that's what I see so far.

I would assume it's downloading. Depending on your connection speed, it may take several hours to finish downloading.

Well, I clicked 'Download Now' again and got the same Steam screen with the "clock" running in the upper right corner so I'll just let it go. There is no download bar or status of any kind that I can see and my Internet is very fast - at least 100 mbps so I wouldn't think it would take that long and I still can't figure why there's no download bar visible.
Robert
Update: It's been running for hours so I know something is not working right.....ya think?

Don't try to download it from within KQ. Go to your Steam Library... you must start the Steam client if needed. On the left is a list of your games. Find KQ2 and click on it. Tell us what you see. I wish I could post a screenshot!

Well, the game finally installed - I'm not really sure how but the only thing I did was to run the installation from the game menu.
Thanks for all the help.

I thought maybe it SHOULD have installed from withing the game menu, but from what you said it didn't seem to be working. Maybe it was just a matter of patience. Who knows!
