I just started to play this game and I have read the letter. but I can't put it back on the table. Playing in the correct 1024x768 resolution in full screen. Where can I find that "crooked zoom out style" located on the screen. I can't find it anywhere.. I could use your help.

Do you mean the letter that you find in the very first scene? Just go to the bottom of the screen, and click when the icon changes.

I have even "tweaked" the compatibility settings to make sure everything is completely visible in Full Screen. I'm clicking everywhere along the bottom, but I still can't find that "Zoom Out" cursor in order to put the later back on the table. Maybe you can send me a pic that shows the position of that cursor?
i'm afraid I can still use your help.

Sandy, that round arrow (cursor) can be seen right under the letter and even on the letter itself at the bottom of it.

Maybe you can ask the experts at Glitches to find the proper settings for your computer.

Sandy, maybe you have 'Large Fonts' enabled in Windows like I do? Some interface won't than show in this game unfortunately.
It was created with the old version of Adventure Maker and feels better in Windows XP with the small fonts option.

After a lot of "tweaking", I finally solved this problem. Did some experiments with my system Display settings,(Windows 10 64 bit) and lowered the "SCALE" settings from 125% to 100% (the recommended setting) which made the text (font) and my desktop icons as well, smaller.I then restarted the game, and everything is now "working" perfectly, including that zoom-out cursor. If anybody else playing this game is experiencing this problem, I hope they see this thread. Oh yes, one other thing: In the Compatibility settings, make sure that "Disable full screen optimizations" is CHECKED, or else you will get some of the screen not visible. HAPPY GAMING!

I played the Artifact in 2014 and did a walkthrough for it. All I can remember about the problem with the cursor in this game is that you must not play the game in a "window" but in "Fullscreen" with a resolution of 1024x768. In a "window" the cursor won't show up at times because it "falls" outside the window.

But I see that you have solved this problem yourself already, so have fun with this nice freeware game
