You guys are missing out on so much....
SWTOR is the easiest MMORPG out there.

There's been added so many places, that may or may not be canon Star Wars - but it sure as heck is fun to explore.

If you don't feel like leveling up from scratch a new character, you can buy this thing on the cartel market, that instantly lvl you to 70 and gives you weapon/clothes etc that fits the lvl.

Then all you have to do is do the starter planet - at highest lvl - after that it's up to you, if you want to do the whole story thing or skip right to endgame stuff.
Or skip to the good expansions... smile

I just learned there is a western mmorpg Western Online. But its not free and it so new they called the last update .8 instead of 1. And based on the forum I read its kind of broken right now because new players get a shotgun that's over powered. The early shotguns like the early rifles and handguns were black powder. Took 10 minutes to load and you got off 1 shot. The bullets were round and often bigger than modern bullets, but less accurate and had less range.

Most of the western themed games I've seen were all pretty inaccurate. As for the shotgun, that was actually a very common and popular firearm during the founding of the old west due to it's usefulness for both defense and keeping meat on the table and black powder covers a broad territory. In reference to flintlocks and muzzle loaders, yes, most were slower to load than modern day weapons. That said, an experienced plainsman with a double barreled shotgun, would carry pre-measured loads, shot and wads in either paper or brass tubes. They could easily fire off two rounds and reload in well under a minute. The stuff that Hollywood pushes is pretty much off the mark. When you see guys jamming a push rod down a barrel and packing it down real tight, that's a clue that the prop guys had no idea what they were doing. The result of any muzzle loader set up like that could be quite spectacular if not deadly to the one firing it.

I feel a lot more like I do now, then when I first got here

I've watched a few videos of a man loading and firing black powder guns. Looked like too much work to me, especially the black powered revolver since you have to load each chamber and then cover them with a protective layer because apparently its otherwise possible to set of all the rounds at once when you fire one. He pointed out that if westerns were realistic a gunfight indoors with these guns would fill the room with black smoke making it hard to see your targets and to breath. He also said some of his b/p guns he has to clean between reloadings the b/p is so dirty.

Apparently there are actually black powder hunting seasons. The upside to black powder guns is you can order them online and have them mailed directly to you don't have to go through a dealer, fill out that federal form in which you sware you are not a criminal, an psychopath or an illegal alien, as if any of them would tell the truth, and pay the transfer fee. The downside is I've seen people online claim the shots cost more per round than using a modern gun with modern ammo.

In Blade & Soul gunslinger has magic pistols but you do have to load them however you carry an infinite number of rounds. Yhe Secret World my trickster carries a focus for magic attacks and twin pistols. When he runs out of chaos energy he switchs to pistols when they run out of "pistol energy" (why didn't the say ammo?) he switches back to the magic attacks. The pistols slowly reload themselves. I've noticed that some foes die faster from magic attacks and some from bullets.

Having played SWTOR for so long its jarring to find that my characters in other games are mute. In Wildstar most characters grunt when wounded and can laugh if you type /laugh. In Blade & Soul there doesn't appear to be a laugh emote. In Lineage II and The Secret World my characters are silent.

In the real world my favorite guns are revolvers. Most fun to shoot is a 22 single action. Unlike the older single action it has a safety so you can carry it loaded in all 6 cylinders. Even so the manufacture still suggests only loading 5 if you carry it loaded. I don't load it until I'm on the range and then all 6.

Edit:
I'm shocked, they posted on Facebook that update to Guild Wars may have caused an issue I didn't think they ever updated the original Guild Wars anymore. In fact I thought they didn't have any staff left after everyone moved to Guild Wars 2. Then got it going and quit to go work on something else. Apparently that's how it goes in MMORPGs. You spend years getting a game going then start over on some other game which may or may not ever get going.

Guild Wars now asks you to verify your server is acceptable and will send you a code to your registered email. Its only a problem if you used an old nonexistant email address. I tested it. I got the access code no problem. But I figured that would be the case since the same email address is used for Guild Wars, Guild Wars 2 (if I played), Wildstar, Lineage II and Blade & Soul.
