Peter have you tried Blender? Got it for all platforms. Here's the link http://www.blender3d.org/ Just takes awhile to learn how to use it.

BeaSong feel free to email me through my homepage (or email me through Boomers.) I may not be able to help you so much when it comes to the Palm platform, but I'm sure there will be people who can.
Acornia I haven't played with Blender myself though I know of it. To date I've been using digital photographs rather than rendered images. I might try Terragen for doing some landscapes.

Peter - my son has used Terragen over the last couple of years, and the pics he has created with it are awesome! Just thought you might want to know Karen
