Unfortunately there is no strictly legal way to make a Steam game work without the Steam client unless Steam sells the game that way.The above may no longer be the case according to the following https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pt9WdG_MeMYHowever I'm not a lawyer and I'm not 100% sure how to interpret that. The following is a link showing which Steam games don't require the client: https://store.steampowered.com/curator/7540156-DRM-Free-Games/If you want to play a game that requires the Steam client on your XP computer, you'll have to read up on "Steam emulators" on your own. I've heard of them, but have no experience with them. The "Steam emulator" fools the game into thinking Steam is running when it's the emulator that's running. Keep in mind you may open yourself up to virus by downloading those things. If you download anything claiming to be a Steam emulator, be sure to scan it with antivirus before installing it. I suggest you watch someone else play the game on YouTube and give up on playing it on XP. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLv_2SQLNWWxaAhwbppM8kVUNJkI1bXC2b

I agree with Jenny... trying to play the game on an operating system that is so old that it is no longer supported by anyone including STEAM might just not be the effort.

Yeah, I should have been clearer. Maybe samuel could find the game on disks to play on his old XP system.

Maybe Samuel could find the game on disks to play on his old XP system. If he does, he should be careful the disc version doesn't use Steam. The game is from 2014, and a lot of disc-based games from 2014 used Steam. Samuel I'm sorry you won't be able to play the game on XP after 45 days, but you should be able to play the game next time you buy a computer. Maybe you want to play it before Steam shuts down support.

dear Jenny100,i was at steams web site,i found there many people having the same problem as i,but someone gave a wonderfull solution,he says to unplug the internet cable,so that there are realy no internet connection at all, then click the shortcut from the game you want to play,a little window will come up,asking there is no internet connection, would you want to play offline yes or no,click on yes, thats it,now the game will run from my computer, without any steam at all,i did so i have 3 games on steam, all of them worked fine, why it worked i dont know, but 1 thing you must remember, after you finish plaing,to reconnect your internet, from samuel

There's an interesting Reddit thread here about this issue. Some say games only worked for two weeks, others say the games worked indefinitely. I guess some or all of it depends on what if any DRM the game has. There is at least one proposed workaround that I certainly never would have thought of.

can someone help me,with this game i have a problem,if i play it with a internet connection, its no good, because i played this game,2 years ago,i made about 21 saved games, and before the game starts, the first thing wich it does,it loads all the old save games,in its save folder,so if i want to save,i have only 1 option, wich is overwrite an old game, then when i want later to play, its very hard to know, wich game you want to load, because all the old ones are also there,it does not help if i delete the old save games, looks like steam have a copy from my old save games, but if i disconnect the internet, there are no more, old save games, can anyone explain what goes on,also the game has a delete option, but never works samuel
