STARDROP is a single-player first-person video game where you take on the role of a Salvage & Rescue Operative named Aryn Vance. With her partner, John, at her side the two embark on a very special journey. STARDROP offers suspense, mystery and a bunch of laughs.

​When an unidentified vessel is discovered, Aryn and John set out on a mission to try and recover it. Yet, the more they explore it, the more questions they find hidden within. The player has to interact with objects and solve light puzzles sprinkled with a pinch of stealth.


STARDROP touches on expectations and tropes that can be found in most Sci-Fi games yet it manages to not fall into them. When you expect one thing it will offer something else. Never betraying these expectations yet never fully fulfilling them either. In the end all that's left is a genuine heart-felt story about a long lost starship, its crew and one individual in particular.

History
Development of STARDROP started early 2015 and was born out of the desire to create a

game with a positive story among all the dark and dreary games out there. Although the idea of such a game has been laying dormant for a long time it was Alien Isolation out of all games that ignited the flame.


Created mostly by one person, Joure Visser, the small team behind the game (Team V) consists mostly out of a number of voice actors, an environmental artist, a dedicated composer and three play testers. We wanted to make a game that would resonate with gamers through its stories and characters.

​Many past experiences ranging from games to movies to music have inspired various aspects of the game. From the Portal series, Half-Life 2 and even such games as Metal Gear Solid to movies such as Inside out or the musical score from Gravity just to name a few.

Some of the scenes in the trailer reminded me a little of the old "Legend" game "Mission Critical" .... even though the trailer was much more modern
