You have 3 empty containers: 15, 10 and 6 ounces.
You need to end up with 1 ounce of water in 2 of the containers.
Containers can be filled from your kitchen water tap!
How you do that?

Sorry Cue: can't "follow" your solution.
Each individual step needs to be listed, so we end up also with number of steps.
Then the "fun" is whoever gets lowest number of steps wins!

Here's a 10 steps solution:
Code
STEP [15] [10] [6]
  1 0 10 0 : fill [10]
  2 10 0 0 : [10] to [15]
  3 10 0 6 : fill [6]
  4 15 0 1 : fill [15] from [6]
  5 5 10 1 : fill [10] from [15]
  6 0 10 1 : empty [15]
  7 10 0 1 : dump [10] in [15]
  8 10 1 0 : dump [6] in [10]
  9 10 1 6 : fill [6]
 10 15 1 1 : fill [15] from [6]

Could you show each of your steps.
Sorry, that's the way these darn container puzzles work!

Oops...I seem to have a snag in my plan. Even if it had worked out, I was still at 15 steps to get one container with 1 ounce. sad Nice puzzle!
Code

STEP	[15]	[10]	[6]
  1 0 10 0 : fill [10]
  2 0 4 6 : [10] to [6]
  3 4 0 6 : [10] to [15]
  4 4 0 0 : Empty [6]
  5 4 10 0 : fill [10]
  6 4 4 6 : [10] to [6]
  7 4 0 6 : [10] to [15]
  8 8 0 0 : Empty [6]
  9 8 10 0 : fill [10]
 10 8 4 6 : [10] to [6]
 11 8 0 6 : [10] to [15]
 12 12 0 0 : Empty [6]
 13 12 10 0 : fill [10]
 14 12 4 6 : [10] to [6]
 15 15 1 6 : [10] to [15]

Here's a 9:

(1) (0, 0, 6) : fill 6
(2) (0, 10, 6) : fill 10
(3) (10, 0, 6) : 10 to 15
(4) (10, 6, 0) : 6 to 10
(5) (10, 6, 6) : fill 6
(6) (15, 6, 1) : 6 to 15
(7) (11, 10, 1) : 15 to 10
(8) (11, 0, 1) : empty 10
(9) (1, 10, 1) : 15 to 10
