Hi smile

Not having been overly impressed by the first in this series - Loch Ness - I held off Pharaoh's Curse until BAAGS twisted my arm till it nearly fell off a couple of weeks ago !! wink

So I am delighted, now that I am trying the game out, to find that I am really enjoying it happydance

I'm just hoping that there is nothing horrible lurking around a corner somewhere to spoil my fun .... like "timed end in death" sequences ??????

Please NOT scared

Cheers.

I agree the sequel was better than the first but will forwarn you there are timed sequences as well but none as difficult underwater maze in the original.

hope this helps,
Brian

I thought the ending sequence was horrid and very difficult, but at the time I was using an older computer (tho' it had more than the minimum requirements) and it wasn't as responsive as it needed to be. Maybe on a new machine it will go more smoothly.

I liked the first one (Loch Ness) better. I thought the setting was much more interesting.

Hi smile

Thanks for the comments (and warnings eek )

Jenny100 ....

Have you ever seen a genuine Scottish castle ??
I have been to many and they are not much like the one portrayed in Loch Ness.

But that isn't why I didn't enjoy the game very much.
I just found it boring wave

No I've never been to a Scottish castle.
I didn't assume the one in Loch Ness was realistic, but IMO it was still a more interesting place than the locations I saw in Pharaoh's Curse.
See what you think of Pharaoh's Curse after you're done with it. I don't want to spoil anything for you by saying what else disappointed me about it.

I liked all the subtle Indiana Jones references in Pharaoh's Curse, tho'

I played both, and would say that there were things I liked and disliked in both. So for me, the final verdict is a draw.

However, I didn't find them as engaging as, for example, Sentinel or DarkFall or Myst 4. For me, they were more of an "inbetweener" game.

I am sorry that the company that created them folded.

Hi ces smile

I haven't played Sentinel or Myst IV (yet) but upto now Pharaoh's Curse is definitely more to my liking than was Darkfall.

We shouldn't all be the same though, eh ?? lol

Cheers.

I really enjoyed this game too. But the final puzzles are tricky and, unfairly in my opinion, it's possible to make a mistake that means you can't finish the game. So, when you get towards the end make sure you save several times in different save game slots so you can go back if necessary... scared luck
