Neither of the two websites that I send members to for saved games has anything for Drowned God. Googling did not find anything either.

It's a long shot, but maybe someone reading this will be able to help you out.

Are you using the version of the game sold by allvideo?

Are you playing the original CD version in XP?
If you're using the allvideo version, you'll probably need a different file.

I'd have to solve the puzzle first.
I've played up to that puzzle, but got tired of the drunken knight blathering and quit.

So no I don't have a save file at the current time, but I may have one soon.
I'll work on the puzzle later tonight.

The puzzle seems to be a variant of a Nim type puzzle

I recently read up on the developer of this game and what I found was quite memorable, to say the least.

You can read about it in the Wikipedia article here - read the section regarding his death. It is quite disturbing, so don't read it if you wish to avoid such information - knowing this probably won't add anything to the game itself (and might detract from it).

I knew nothing about the developer of Drowned God prior to looking this up.

I've uploaded a set of 4 saves plus the catalog file named dgnames.dat here
http://www.gameboomers.com/wtcheats/pcDd/DrownGod.zip
It's very small -- between 1.2 and 1.3 KB

I think the saves all have to go as a set, and that you need that dgnames.dat file that goes with the actual saves or they won't show up. I don't think you can mix and match with your previous saves.

The 3rd save is right after the knight puzzle.
The 4th save is shortly after the knight puzzle, after you use the elevator.
That 4th save is only if the 3rd save doesn't work.

I suggest backing up all your saves in case these don't work.
Maybe drag your saves to a folder on your desktop and replace with the ones in the zip file.
Or you can rename to dgsave0.dat.bak, dgsave1.dat.bak, etc. -- whatever way you want to do it to keep your old saves from being overwritten.

User name in the game was Twinkle.
The special number I got at the beginning was 8 -- (in case the game asks for it again).

Since these saves were made in a Windows 95 DOSBox VM the save location was directly in the game folder. If you're using XP the saves may be in your My Documents folder instead. Wherever you find them, you'll want to unzip the DrownGod.zip file (it will probably unzip to a folder with files in it) and copy or move the individual save files from the unzipped folder into wherever your game is putting its saves.

There's a review over at Mystery Manor that tells more about the game's history
http://mysterymanor.net/reviewdrownedgod.htm
The review is from 2004, before the tragic events in the Wikipedia article.

Thanks very much for the saved games, Jenny. I really thought that finding any was a lost cause.

Hopefully the save is compatible.
Good luck.

Is there a drowned.img file in the game folder?
The allvideo version uses DOSBox Daum along with a hard drive image.
If that's what you're using, you'll need the drowned.img file, which is 255.9 MB in size and would have to be uploaded to a file hosting site like dropbox or mega.nz.

If you don't have a drowned.img file in the game folder, or possibly another .img file that's about the same size, there's not much point in my uploading my drowned.img file anywhere because it won't help you.

Would it be possible to play this game using ScummVM?
I just succeeded in making Shivers work, but I would give anything to be able to replay Drowned God.

It's one of the Greats, I think. Yes, I have the original discs (and all the packaging!)

I found this - but I don't think it was followed up on.

Your best bet would either be that eBay seller or a virtual machine, I think.
