I've finished the main game and am a long way into the bonus chapter - and was really enjoying myself - but now I've ground to a halt Apparently, in the main game I should have placed a page from an occult book into the book and then picked up the book - but I didn't. So I still only have the page. However, I nevertheless WAS allowed to finish the game and carry on into the bonus chapter. Now, in the bonus chapter I find I absolutely need that book to be able to play on through. But I'm not allowed to return to its location to get it So I've been investigating on-line and it appears the only way TO get it would be to re-play the whole of the main game again. And I'm not up for that .... What a bad glitch. I'm SO disappointed

Hi, Mad!
Did you check the BFG forums to see if anyone came up with a solution because sometimes there were workarounds for glitches? Even though they discontinued the forums a while ago, they did not delete what was already there and this is an older game. Did you just buy the game, or are you replaying it? If you just bought it and don't want to start over, I would contact Big Fish and they will give you a coupon for another CE, especially if there were other complaints in their forum. I've run into a few glitches and you can be sure if you are having problems, other people were as well when it was first released. Big Fish is great about making things right.
I don't remember ever playing a game where I needed an inventory item from the main game to complete the bonus game, so there is no way you should have been able to finish the main game if something was missing.

That's a good point. Why didn't I think of that?

Hi, Marian!
I've played CEs where the bonus chapter was a prequel to the main game or where the bonus chapter picked up where the main game ended, but the inventory items were never carried over. Most of them, though, have been 2 standalone games. Like you, my experiences with glitches have been few and far between.

Hi Susie07. No, I haven't looked on the Big Fish Forum but, as I said earlier in the thread, I did go on-line to look for info and found others who had come up against the same glitch And I know full well a player should never be "allowed" to continue to a bonus chapter unless they have completed everything in the main game. Although the game is not a new release, it's not very long since I purchased it. Anyway I've contacted Big Fish Customer Support to see what they say, as normally they are very good about game problems of this ilk. Cheers. Mad

Hi, Mad!
A player should never be allowed to progress, period, unless all necessary tasks have been completed. I can count on one hand the number of glitches I have encountered in the 10 years I've been playing casual games, but I was dead-ended in all of them because I completed a task or combined inventory items in the wrong order and I guess the game didn't recognize that.
I'm sure Big Fish will make things right for you, but it's still frustrating if you're really enjoying the game and can't finish.

Yes. As expected, Big Fish have sent me a free game code. For which I am most grateful. They also offered possible "standard" fixes for me to try - but none of them were really relevant to the problem. So, sorted for now. And no doubt I will play the game again at some time because I do like it. [ Definitely dealing with the page and the book though before I leave the main game !!!! ]

Hi, Mad!
If I encountered a glitch that dead-ended me and I replayed the game, when I came to that spot again, I would follow the steps in the Strategy Guide and I was usually able to proceed. If you're looking for a game to buy with your free game code, I'm currently playing "Ghost Files: Memory of a Crime" CE and it's excellent. Since everyone's taste is different, download the demo first to see what you think.

Susie07 .... I don't tend to use strategy guides unless I am very stuck. However, you can be sure I will have "put that page in the book" before I come to the end of the main game NEXT time !! I don't bother with demos, either If I like the sound of a game and the look of the stills that are shown - I will just go ahead and buy it. [But usually in a sale, of course.] Cheers. Mad

Hi, Mad! You're in luck because there just happens to be a 65% off sale at Big Fish right now, so you can save your coupon code for another game ! I will play the demo first to make sure the game is compatible with my system because I can usually tell by the game description if I will enjoy it or not. I also will not use the Strategy Guide unless I'm really stuck, but desperate times call for desperate measures and I will use it to get past a glitch. Susan
