Hello fellow gamers! It's been a while since I played a good adventure. Love games like Nancy Drew - point and click inventory based. Looking for some recommendations on newer games that have been released that are a good play.

Have you played The Book of Unwritten Tales? A great adventure with lots of very funny references to old adventure games. It's available on Steam and if you don't have a Steam account, it's also available as a download from Amazon.

It would help to know your computer specs as lot of the newer games have much higher video card requirements.

Nice to see you here! smile

The Book of Unwritten Tales is also available for download from GOG.

There is a new Nancy Drew game in the works which will be released on November 19th; preorders start October 1st. The game is called Midnight in Salem. Not sure if the game will be mouse and keyboard or mouse only, as they have switched to a new game engine. Should know more in the coming weeks. I would also recommend Unavowed and Lamplight City, both available from GOG and Steam.

Unforeseen Incidents is a good point and click adventure that was released more recently and it is available as a download from Steam and from GOG.

One of the best games I played this year (as in one of my favorite new games from this year) is "Detective Di" which is available from
https://nupixo.itch.io/detective-di-the-silk-rose-murders
and
https://fireflowergames.com/products/detective-di-the-silk-rose-murders
It takes place in ancient China, and you play as Detective Di Renjie.

And I always enjoy the Carol Reed games, the latest of which was released earlier this year.
The Carol Reed games are 1st person, like Nancy Drew, and are available from
https://www.mdna-games.com/

There is a game called 'Gorogoa' that I thought was a unique type of puzzle game that you might like. It is on GOG.

There are some others I played, also on GOG, that may or may not fit what you're looking for. I'll list them just in case.

Lake Ridden
Obduction
Quern - Undying Thoughts
Truberbrook
What Remains of Edith Finch

All of the games have preview on youtube if you want to check them out first.

Good luck in your hunt for games.

Robert

Those are all good suggestions from Robert. Just make sure to look at system requirements too. smile

Yes, to system requirements - some of those have some pretty hefty video card requirements.

Another good one is The Vanishing of Ethan Carter.
