This is fantastic, Jenny. I lived in New York City for a year when I was 12 (we lived on the 16th floor of a high rise), which makes this even more interesting. The famous jazz musician Thelonious Monk lived two floors above us and sometimes we could hear his jam sessions. Also would encounter him in the elevator from time to time.

Amazing. I've seen parts of this before, but never the entire film. Interesting mix of transportation... horses, cars, trolleys and trains.

What stuck out to me was that everyone except for the young children was wearing a hat.
It's nice to be important but it is much more important to be nice.

And depending whether you were in the more affluent areas or the poor areas, the men all wore the same light colored hat with a dark band. In the poor area, the men and boys all wear hats I would refer to as tams, but that might not be right.

Thanks for sharing, Jenny100. Really enjoyed watching that And I was surprised to see just how similar everything was - compared to films of major British cities of the same era

Here's London in 1903 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DVQiEJW7RWgI think all the vehicles are horse-drawn in this one. Interesting to see what looks like the predecessors of a double decker bus, and featuring ads for products like Nestle's, Bovril, Grape Nuts, Pears Soap, and some I don't recognize.
