Hi, Marian!

I beta-tested this one and enjoyed it very much. Now I have to decide between the new Grim Tales and the new Haunted Legends which other one to pick up in the BOGO sale.

Decisions, decisions, Susan! grin

I just picked up the Memoirs of Murder: Behind the Scenes CE and the Vermilion Watch: Parisian Pursuit CE. I will try to hold out, but I might pick up two more before the sale ends. So many games to choose from. smile

Hi, Marian!

Excellent choice! I bought Vermillion Watch: Parisian Pursuit CE when it was first released and enjoyed it very much.

I may wait until the SE of Grim Tales is released and pick it up with a coupon because 2 reviewers on BF stated that it only took them 3 and 3-1/2 hours to finish the game (including the bonus chapter), and that's just way too short for me.

Did you pick up the new Mystery Case Files? I'm still playing and it's very well done. Some parts of the large puzzles are a little annoying but, for the most part, they are a lot of fun.

Susan, I do have the new MCF but am saving it. For what, I don't know, but I just like the fact that it is there waiting for me. laugh I will certainly play it between now and when the next MCF is released.

I played the new Grim Tales game on Thursday (had a free CE code to use) and although I have not played all the games in the series, it seemed about the same length to me as more recent ones that I have played (like The White Lady). That doesn't really tell you anything all that useful, though.

I have been playing Memoirs of Murder for about an hour now and I really like it so far. Interesting and creative. I am well pleased at this point, so we will see how the rest of it goes. smile

Hi, Marian!

Do you have any idea how long it took you to play Grim Tales because I also beta-tested that one (I received about 5 beta-test emails from BF within a week lol ) and have been waiting for it to be released? For me, a decent length for both the main game and bonus chapter is about 5 hours, and anything longer than that is icing on the cake. It's possible that that the 2 reviewers on BF are much faster players than I am so I'll finish the demo of Haunted Legends and then decide which one to buy along with Memoirs of Murder.

The new MCF is well worth the wait because I just finished and will definitely replay it. The large puzzles (I don't remember what they're called) were a lot of fun, and one in particular was quite different. My only complaint is that both the main game and the bonus chapter ended abruptly without the usual closing scenes, but that didn't affect my opinion.

I really did not pay any attention to the time I spent playing Grim Tales so can't say for sure. I will say, though (again, not based upon actually having kept track of the time spent playing the game), that I remember Haunted Legends as having taken me somewhat longer. Yes, I played that one too. I have had some extra time to spend playing games the last few days and I have been loving every minute of it. smile

I look forward to playing the new MCF.

Still enjoying Memoirs of Murder. yes

Thanks for the heads up Marian and thanks for letting me know about the BOGO sale, I just downloaded this game and if it's like the 1st 2 games in the series than I will have a tough choice as to which 2 games I will choose between MCF, Grim Tales and this one, but I guess they will be good choices no matter what and I will have another game in reserve for the next sale. Now off to Demo this game later tongiht.

Thanks again Marian for all your hard work...

Hi, Marian!

Thanks very much! How would you like to break the tie? Which game did you enjoy more ... Grim Tales or Haunted Legends <cue the Jeopardy Music> lol ! Memoirs of Murder is a given. I just need one more for the BOGO sale.

We've done very well the past couple of days. I picked 2 games up in Thursday's 65% off sale, and now I'll be picking 2 more up in the BOGO sale, which works out to be 65% off each game as well.

Susan

I enjoyed them both (I know, I know, not helpful)! grin

They are both very typical games, I would say, of their respective developers, so maybe it really comes down to whether you would rather play an Elephant game or one by Amax? For me, the answer to that question would be that it depends upon my mood at the time as to which one I would prefer. smile

Hi, Marian!

Since I've got all weekend to make up my mind, I think I'll just flip a coin because I beta-tested Grim Tales and played most of the Haunted Legends demo and enjoyed both. I'm sure I'll be pleased with whichever one I choose, and I can save the other one for the next good sale.

That's a great idea, Susan. It doesn't have to be an either/or situation, right? yes wave
