Pokey, I haven't yet. I've been taking care of my sick husband for a little while now, so I haven't had much playing time. And I thought I'd wait for a while until you caught up a bit, too.

I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

I'm confused. Should I bother having a relationship with Jespar? Does it help me? I've met him in the tavern after going to the Sun Temple for the first time.

The relationship stuff comes quite a bit later in the story. There's at least one other romanceable character, too.

What I didn't realize about the companions for a long time is that they only accompany you on specific quests. Otherwise they just hang around looking decorative. It isn't like Dragon Age, where you have your companion/romance with you all the time if that's what you want.

What is useful about the companions when they do accompany you is that, except on the hardest setting, they can't be killed, which is pretty handy if you're in a tough situation.

I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

That's what I was looking for, help on some quests. Not interested in romance.

I send my companion into the fray while I take potshots from afar. The companions fight until they pass out, and then they slowly recover, taking out perhaps one or two more enemies until they get knocked out again. Once the field is down to only a couple of enemies, I move in. It's cheesy, but expedient and for some of the fights it was the only way my fragile archer could survive.

I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

I passed the trials and am a Keeper but can't find my new armor. I was on a balcony following an arrow to a door on the end but haven't found the forge. I need directions.

Edit.....nevermind, I found it on a different balcony.

The stores down there are the best in the game. Of course I waited until nightfall and robbed them blind later that night...

Haven't had much time for playing this last couple of weeks. I'm looking forward to having some free time!

They had a lot of stuff. Still looking for lock picking books to get to expert. Just need to check all the merchants. Did you ever get caught stealing? I've heard of players who run into a lot of trouble doing that, so I'm a bit nervous to try. I did pick up a couple things early on and I got fined once when I accidentally clicked on an item on a merchant's display.

I just finished the Aged Man quest. That was quite a crazy time. Glad it is done. Took me a while to locate the Conjure Pyrean spell I needed in my inventory.

I need to get back to fighting and looting for a change and let the main quest wait.

I've completed Deus Ex Machina and returned to the Sun Temple to hear that the Nehrimese are attacking and I am to meet Jespar and Firespark in Fogville to do something about silver plates. I'd rather spend some time doing other quests and exploring first. I assume it is fine to keep them waiting till I am ready?

Oh, yeah. Go ahead and leave Jespar and Firespark. They'll wait until you get there.

I got caught stealing a few times, though on those occasions I usually just reloaded. On a very few occasions someone caught me and barked at me, but nothing more serious than that.

I went over and checked them out and they were standing in the fog.

I am having a very hard time with the bounty quest Gagantua. There are four elemental wolves, two other mages and Gagantua at the campsite. I can't even begin to kill the wolves and then the mages join in. There's a lot of fire and I die quickly. I don't see any high spots to take cover and attack. I tried taking them one at a time but they come en mass. Any tips?

I used Summons extensively for battles like this one. Cast one, make sure it's engaged with the enemy, then hide until the summons is dead, then repeat. Usually the enemies would wear down over time. I once spent half an hour doing this in real time taking out a group of about ten over-powered enemies.

I'll try that. I hope there is a place to hide. I haven't seen any likely spots yet.

Got it done. I used my staff of Oorbaya as that it was the strongest I had, level 30. It was slow at first but didn't take that long. I cast the spell and had to run way down the hill to a building to wait. Once the wolves were done, it went quick.

That was actually pretty exciting seeing the strategy work. I need to visit the Sun Temple to see if the vendors have any high level summons. I need some better spells as well.

I think you can buy Summons spells from the vendor in Duneville, the one in the bar. Not sure about the Sun Temple, since it's necromancy.

Good idea. I hadn't thought about him. The best he has right now is Ice Elemental II. I'll check back later on.

I did find a blueprint for the huge backpack at the Wild Mages camp and crafted it. Lots more space!

Heading up to the dangerous north coast of Goldenforst/Thalgard for the bounty quest. I haven't had success at Castle Firerock yet.

Help! I have a problem. I stole a bow from the ship near the Fruit Co. When I returned to Ark with the bow in my inventory, I was mobbed by the guards hitting me with their swords. I didn't get a chance to pay a fine. I was able to teleport out and went to an earlier save and dropped the bow. I tried to go back to Ark and was mobbed again. Teleported out again. I have a save before I picked up the bow. Will that work? When I dropped the bow, it disappeared.

Will the guards hit me until unconscious and then give me a chance to pay a fine or go to jail?

Edit...I went back to the hard save before I picked up the bow and that worked. Putting it in my chest didn't work. Also, traveling across the map and back with Myrads didn't work.

That must be a glitch. Some of the guards in certain areas seem to be preternaturally alert to thievery, but reloading always got me out of a jam.

Was it a special enchanted bow, or just a bow? I found a couple of excellent bows, but I also put tons of points into crafting and made myself the Bone bow, which is awesome.

I believe it was the Silver Steel Bow of Fire Wrath. Actually nothing of great value. I was going to sell it. It certainly wasn't worth all the trouble it caused. I don't think I will be thieving any more.

I would like to upgrade some weapons. Is it possible to upgrade enchanted weapons?

Yes, you can upgrade enchanted weapons if you have the right skills. I haven't got my game open right now, but the blacksmithing tree, as far as I remember, doesn't include enchanted weapons. That skill is in one of the magic skill Memory trees, in the centre (can't remember which one).

I found the blacksmithing skills to be essential and created some pretty great stuff, including armour sets and major bows.

I've been busy doing the main quest. Currently at level 35 and outside Northwind castle with Calia looking for a black pearl. Just figured out what the black powder was for. Too bad it didn't work, but we will find a way in.

At level 35 you should be getting pretty powerful, too. That was about the level where I felt I could explore without being killed every few minutes. There never was a point where I felt invincible.

I've been catching up on my TV shows but will getting back to my game soon. I still have to take out that main boss. I've been putting it off because he talks, and talks, and talks, and talks, and if he wasn't my main antagonist I would kill him anyway just for being a pedantic bore.

Well, the Northwind castle quest was quite a slog. I had little problem early on, but later on the 60 seconds to kill a bunch of guards, find the key and then locate the door to unlock was quite frustrating as I couldn't find the right door. Then I had a hard time throwing the powder satchel through a small hole. The worst part was the room with the black stone. The reanimated servants there were wearing heavy armor and much stronger than any others I met. I couldn't even kill one before I was dead. I finally ran through the castle and found a narrow stairway where I had a better chance. Glad to get by that.

I couldn't turn in the stone to the Archmagister as he only wanted to talk about the quest to get evidence on a death. I hope when I have all the stones, he will consider taking them. I hope I don't have to do the side quest first.

Heading to the Nobles area for the last stone and hoping it goes better.

I hated that pouch-throwing incident. It almost turned into a computer-throwing incident.

What level are you at now?

I just hit level 36. Heading out to Silvergrove in the Powder Desert. This part of the quest is more fun.

i did get the Archmagister to take the two black stones. I just needed to scroll down to get the whole dialogue.
