Hi guys, I would really appreciate if you could suggest a third person adventure game like one of these that I played and loved:
The Lost Crown
Black Mirror (all three sequels)
Syberia 1 and 2
Secret Files
Gray Matter
Alpha Polaris
So, games with good story and "real" graphics, not those cartoonish ones smile
Thanks in advance to anyone who suggests something smile

Here is a list of 3rd person point-and-click games, most of which I've played at some point, but not all. For example any game that required online authentication and restricted the number of installations I did not buy and did not play.

I've included dates to give a general idea of what quality of graphics you can expect, and how likely the game is to run without tweaking. A few games, like The Longest Journey, have been updated and re-released, so those should work on modern computers.

I won't make any claim about the quality of the stories because I've disliked game stories that other people have enjoyed and vice versa.

There are some cases, like with the Agatha Christie games, where some people are able to play on modern computers while others are not. Any game currently available as a legal download from websites like GOG, Fireflower, Shadow Tor, Steam, or itch.io should play provided your computer meets the requirements, even if the game was originally released over ten years ago.

+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+

Agatha Christie: And then there were None (2005)
Agatha Christie: Murder on the Orient Express (2006)
Agatha Christie: Evil Under the Son (2007)

Art of Murder: FBI Confidential (2008)
Art of Murder 2: Hunt for the Puppeteer (2009)
Art of Murder 3: Cards of Destiny (2010)

Belief and Betrayal (2008)
Black Sails (2010)
Chronicles of Mystery: The Scorpio Ritual (2008)
Chronicles of Mystery 2: The Tree of Life (2009)

The Dark Eye: Chains of Satinav (2012)
The Dark Eye: Memoria (aka just Memoria) (2013)

Journey to the Center of the Earth (2003)
The Longest Journey (2000)
Lost Chronicles of Zerzura (2012)
Lost Horizon (the first one, not the 2nd one) (2010)

Memento Mori (2009)
Memento Mori 2: Guardians of Immortality (2014)
Moment of Silence (2004)
Mystery of the Druids (2001)

Nibiru: Age of Secrets (2005)
Overclocked: A History of Violence (2008)
Perry Rhodan: The Immortals of Terra (2008) (aka Perry Rhodan: Myth of the Illochim)
(Perry Rhodan has dull, muted colors, so check screenshots)

Sherlock Holmes: The Case of the Silver Earring (2004)
Sinking Island (2007)
Undercover: Operation Wintersun (2007)

+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+

To compare dates of the above with the dates of the games you mentioned
Quote

Alpha Polaris (2011)
Black Mirror (2003)
Black Mirror 2 (2010)
Black Mirror 3 (2011)
Gray Matter (2010)
The Lost Crown (2008)
Secret Files: Tunguska (2006)
Secret Files 2: Puritas Cordis (2009)
Secret Files 3 (2012)
Secret Files: Sam Peters (2013) (shorter than others in the series)
Syberia (2002)
Syberia 2 (2004)

Cool, my PC is not very modern especially my graphics card and I run windows 7 64bit so I think I'll be able to play most of these games. I've played Sherlock, Poirot and Art of Murder games, I like them very much, forgot to mention them. Certainly will check out these other games. Thanks again for the suggestions. P.S. Point and click adventure games is what I love smile

I figured that was the case going by the games you mentioned.
A lot of people on this forum like their adventure games to be point-and-click.

If you liked the Art of Murder games, check out the Chronicles of Mystery games because they were by the same company and came out around the same time. The heroine is Sylvie Leroux, who is an archeologist instead of an FBI agent, but she solves mysteries the same way Nicole Bonnet does in the Art of Murder games.

The Memento Mori games are similar, though if I remember correctly, they are more like the Secret Files games than Art of Murder. You play as both Lara Svetlova (Interpol) and Max Durand (art expert).

I hope you find something you can enjoy.

How would you rank at least three of those games that are the best or your personal favourites?

I hardly remember some of them because it's been so long since I played them.

My favorite is probably Dark Eye: Memoria, but then I tend to enjoy games that take place in a fantasy environment or historical environment rather than present day.

Lost Chronicles of Zerzura takes place in 1514 Spain according to the review. Maybe it has a touch of fantasy (depending on whether you think certain of Leonardo da Vinci's devices can actually work).

I also liked Lost Horizon. It's a little bit like Indiana Jones the way you visit exotic locations, except your character is more of a rogue than Indy, so maybe more like the character in Heart of China.

Memoria and Lost Horizon are both available from GOG.
Steam has all three games.

It's not a casual game is it? There is a game called The Man with the Ivory Cane.
