I quit playing World of Warcraft years ago and tossed my authenticator. I forgot that I bought a digital version of Diablo 3 from them and now I can't sign in to the account without my authenticator. I have filled out 3 tickets all of which they told me were resolved and they had never done anything to resolve the problem. I tried to find a working phone number to talk to a customer service rep and it is an answering service. Does anyone have any suggestions for me on solving this problem? Does anyone have a working number for them? I could only find a number that I already had on the net.
Thanks ahead of time for the help.

I hope that someone is able to help you out here, Debra. The only information I can find about this is through googling, which I imagine you have already done.

Debra, did you try remove your authenticator?

Believe it or not L4L, they want you to supply your authenticator code for an authenticator that's not longer here. They are so smart.
My belief is that I'm just hosed. I can no longer get a game I paid for because they won't respond to me in any form. Thank goodness for GoG. When you buy it it's yours to keep and you don't need to be on the internet to use it.
I quit using Blizzard quite a few years ago after having to change my credit card 4 times WITH an authenticator. I've never had a credit card problem since.

My son has played a lot of WOW and is quite familiar with the way things work with the Blizzard system, and he said it sounded like you were out of luck. I was hoping he was wrong, but the situation does look rather hopeless.

I think your son is right. They do not back their work. If they had a phone number, I could confirm my purchase, but they have an answering machine and do not return calls. Well, live and learn. Diablo 3 wasn't that great a game anyway. I just wanted it because I paid a lot for it.

For sure, Debra. Does Blizzard still have Live Chat? If they do, that would be the route to try to take, I think.

I don't know about that. I'll have to find a link and see if that works. Thanks for bringing it up thumbsup

Well here's the story: I made a new account so I could contact the chat person. Then I had to take a picture of my passport with a camera and send it to them. I barely got it taken and the camera battery died. Then I lost the Game Master I was talking to and had to start over with a new lady. They asked me my secret questions which I had already answered, but this time they were satisfied and recovered my old account. Now, D3 is downloading albeit slowly.
Thanks to all who gave me support and advice. It really helped.

Wow, what a saga, Debra. Kind of like an RPG with a few side quests - lots of hurdles to overcome. grin

I'm so glad you got it straightened out! thumbsup

That just what I was thinking... sounds like an RPG quest! How awful, but at least you got your game.

I hate those endless loops. I got into one this week with a forum I hadn't posted on a for a while, and my old password won't work for some reason. I hit the Password Reset button but never did get the email to reset my password. Better still, you can't get to talk to anyone on the site without signing in! No biggie, and I don't really care, but honestly the site techs ought to think of things like this.

Glad you got your endless loop resolved!

I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

I had similar issue with Star Wars: The Old Republic when I wanted to switch from they keychain authentication to smart phone app. They are not interchangeable, the app it turns out generates a longer code. Which ever one you have set up the game looks for it and rejects the others codes. You have to deactivate the one before you can activate the other. But activating a new version requires a code. A code I forgot long ago. Bioware made me jump through several hoops to get the new code.

Well, the only way I got to live chat was to make a new account and then they worked on fixing the old one. That , folks, makes no sense at all.

Yeah, I used to do a number of MMO games, but the corporate structure and customer service model of most turned me off after awhile. That said, I did get sucked into Fortnite for a short period of time due to some nudging from other gamer buddies.

I hope it works out for you Debra. smile

I feel a lot more like I do now, then when I first got here

It's odd what SWTOR's customer service can and cannot do. And I think it also depends on who is working at the time you ask for assitance. Some know what they're doing some don't have a clue. Sometimes they'll say its a bug file a buy report not a customer service request because the developers have to fix it.

I think customer service is from a foreign country, too. These folks have a notebook of algorithms and follow that to a T because they don't understand the language well so, it's hard for them to fix a problem. When I write out my problem, I think we might as well be using sign language. Blizzard's customer service is just following the other industry standards which leaves all (most) of us frustrated.
