Do you have a save right before the fight starts? The best thing I could recommend is kill a few and save. Also run around and kill some more and save again. That is how I got through. The fights don't last that long. The video I saw with the archer, he stationed himself behind metal structures next to the left generator and kept firing arrows from there. When the glowing thing shows up, just run and keep running till he is gone. Good luck

Yes, I think that's the only way I'll get past this. mad

At least my computer is all fixed up. It got an upgrade from Win 7 to Win 10. I had to chuckle at the tech guys who worked on it -- they kept raving about what an amazing laptop it is. I guess nobody in this town has seen one of these Alienwares before. It's really geeky and sort of juvenile, with flashing lights that change colour, and it weighs a ton. I'm glad it's okay because I'd have to rob a bank to replace it.

I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Have you tried magic? Maybe a summon to distract and damage while you fire arrows. Or a strong fireball. Do you have a good sword or dagger and shield? You could try that. Deathstorm was very effective when I finally tried it.

It really is awesome, even now. In a sudden burst of generosity 7 years ago my husband told me to buy myself the best gaming laptop I could find. I didn't get quite the absolute best of the Alienware options offered, but I did end up with a screamingly fast gaming machine with an 18" screen (alas, no longer available) and a massive hard drive.

And of course, the cool flashing lights that go from pink to orange to green to yellow to purple to blue and back to pink. Not juvenile at all.

Getting another one will require a bit of belt-tightening. Or the bank robbing option.

I'm going to have to cast one of my Elementals, I guess., and bravely run away, as you suggested. Of course my alleged love interest is off cowering somewhere, too. I hope he's able to take care of himself because I'm far more interested in saving my own hide.

Calia was pretty good in the fights, at least early on. Later, I was running too much to notice. I didn' t realize at the time, but you can use food to heal between the swarms. I saw it happen in a video. That would help more than using potions.

In that video, the archer had a bunch to fight in the beginning, but later there seemed to be only one or two, so he had a long time to shoot at the generator. He didn't have much trouble. He didn't have any of those glowing things or the runes on the floor. Those were added to the game later I guess and made it harder.

Hey Folks,

Question for mod users and Enderal. When installing Enderal, did you need to uninstall any existing mods? I'm currently running over 100 mods and the Skyrim Script Extender, does Enderal sit as a stand-alone, or does it over-write the Skyrim installation?

Thanks!

I had no trouble installing it, and I had a few mods on my Skyrim. I think Enderal stands entirely alone. Good job, too, because if it hadn't, I would have been flummoxed by Nexus, since I forgot how to use it!

Have fun. It's very different from Skyrim, but with the same mechanics. A cool story and a big world to explore.

Well the opening certainly was interesting. After that first scene, I was thinking, "My, how uplifting" lol

The opening certainly had me puzzled. I was wondering if I had wandered into another game. I don't use mods but if you have any problem, the players on Steam are a great help. I'll be glad to help too, just not about mods.

Thanks Pokey, I'm good. smile

From what I can tell, it looks like Enderal is a completely separate instance that uses Skyrim's assets, and isn't impacted by any Skyrim mods. Really glad of that because running a ton of mods can be a bit of a balancing act.

I only ran Enderal for a short time last night, looks good so far. Really impressed by the voice acting.

Trail, Enderal is indeed a completely separate game, including the leveling functions and character development trees. Levelling seems a mite complicated at first but once you get the hang of it you can build a pretty cool character. The world is big, too.

So, just started to develop my character. My usual route is a mage with ranged (bow) or blade skills. Does multi-classing place your character at a disadvantage in Enderal, or is it somewhat expected to cross-develop skill sets?

I started as a Warrior and later became a Battlemage as I made frequent use of spells. I think the dual classes would give you many more options. Early on, I mainly used a two-hander, but later the fireball became very effective at greater distances. I also used the bow when it would be effective. Enderal makes it easy to develop different skills.

Thanks Pokey, that's good news! While I'm a bit of a purest at straight up D&D games, I like to change things up when a game's character development allows it.

I like the vibe of Enderal so far, it's almost got an Adventure/RPG hybrid feel to it. I'm hoping someone comes up with a mod to disable that Skyrim "Kill-Cam" though. It was great when one was developed to make it optional in Skyrim. There were so many times when I was in battle with multiple opponents, right on the verge of winning, but low on health and BOOM, the stupid kill cam throws everything in slow motion with no player control. I just about broke my mouse watching a foe drive a sword through my characters back or some animal lunging at my character's neck and no way to pull him out of the way - Infuriating. Sure hope I don't hit that here.

Other than that, it's fun grin

The kill-cam never bothered me in Enderal. It wasn't used very often and didn't cause a problem in a battle.

I'm totally blown away that I missed this conversion mod, it's awesome. I dropped a donation at their website, they deserve it.

Dropping my other games for now, because I'm getting caught up in this one and its expansion. thumbsup

It's also awesome that there are mods available for it! One of the annoyances I found is that it inherited the bugs from the vanilla Skyrim platform, pleasantly surprised that there are mods to take care of those now. grin

Trail, in this game it pays to plan your character in advance by checking out those skill trees pretty carefully, but multiclassing is great. I ended up at level 70 or so and had a ranged thiefy type with a high Summoning skill and other magic, and also a lot of skill in crafting or whatever it's called. Crafted weapons and armour are the bomb in this game.

I am currently circling down the Fallout 4 vortex but might come up for air and start another Enderal game as soon as I'm launched back out.

Yeah, this is exactly why I am really getting into this game. I missed games that had more complex character development trees, and then linking that character development to specific skills and spells in a very interactive way other than just leveling is awesome. Makes be feel nostalgic for Black Isle and early Obsidian/Bioware games. I got hooked on trying tons of different character builds in Neverwinter Night 2, until the expansions hosed up the game mechanics. Really missed working with drastically different character type/builds. Now if they could expand their race selections and work alignment into this somehow I'd have a nerdgasm lol

I just discovered Vortex a couple of weeks ago in my quest to take out some of the Fallout 4 annoyances ( though nobody seems to have successfully developed the Preston-B-Gone mod or the Preston-B-Gagged mod), but I hadn't realized that Enderal had mods, too. I'll be checking some of those out.

Hate to admit it, but I'm a late adopter to Vortex. I tried it out a couple months after it was released and it hosed up my mods in a non-recoverable kind of way, so once bitten twice shy.

As a result I've been using the community maintained version of the old Nexus Mod Manager instead.

I haven't had any trouble with the mods I've installed with Vortex, but that's in a clean install of Fallout 4. I don't use many, anyway. I think I've got about 6 or 7 of them.

I checked out your link to the community maintained version, but it had too many words and not enough clicky icons for me duh lol Anyway, so far, so good with Vortex.

I was surprised by the Relationship Alignment stat that's being used in Enderal. It's nice to see someone incorporate that into this game engine/platform. I'm used to seeing it with companions in Fallout 4, but the companions in Skyrim were so 2 dimensional, didn't expect to see that in Enderal. Cool stuff. thumbsup
