Hi I hope you can help ,I know this is an old game and I played it years ago .I am trying it again . I have just finished the Telemann age. Using the walkthrough by Bert Jamin I have jumped off the ledge and am back in my relto and Bert said go to the first book (green) and that is the Gahreesen age . at the time I quit as I had been on the game a while . I have just came back and the green book is not there . I went back to Telemann age hoping to set it right but .the green book is not there . hope you can help.
Regards

Hi I have managed to get to Gahreesen age via the pillars outside the Relto I came back and the green book appeared LOL.
Its been a long time since I played this game and I guess there are no saves , when I quit it will take me back to Relto always ? Is that right.
Regards
Maggsie

Hi maggsie, I haven't played this game. Hopefully someone else will be able to answer your question.

Yes, that is correct. Once you get to the Relto you will always start there.
Then you choose from your bookshelf, or if you haven't done the pillars outside you'll have to go do those.

It's unfortunate this game was designed as an online game and was limited in that way, without real saves. Then they had to impose a replacement for a real save system on the original game and it's kind of a kludge.

If you're using Bert Jamin's walkthrough, check where he said
Quote
Each of these pillars contains a linking book to one of the four Ages. First thing I did was opening all of the pillars and get me linked to the corresponding Age and get me linked back to Relto again. So I gathered all linking books at the same time.

It's better to just do what's necessary to get all the books on your shelves so you don't have to go back and try and remember what you did for each book.

Uru: Complete Chronicles is Uru: Ages Beyond Myst + the two add-ons To D'Ni and Path of the Shell. So you can use a Uru: Ages Beyond Myst for most of Uru: Complete Chronicles.

I have the original disk versions of all the URU games and they are still on my old computer. I haven't played in years. This is a good time to replay. Thanks for the reminder. maggsie. wave

Hi Gerry I had them all too but I had to give them to charity as I got rid of all my old pcs, something I really regret. I am so glad I can get a lot on Steam. This is my 8 week of lockdown and my games have kept me sane LOL
Enjoy

The original failed -- mainly due to so many people having slow bandwidth compared to what was required -- and was closed down not all that long after its release.
Then there was another "Live" version at GameTap, which also eventually shut down.

There is currently an online version of Uru run by Cyan called Uru Live Again
https://mystonline.com/en/

I think it is still available.
You have to download the client from https://mystonline.com/en/play/
It's separate from the offline version.

The online version has "Ages" that aren't available in the standalone game, like Minkata and the island of K'Veer. There's a picture of the great arch of K'Veer here
https://archive.guildofarchivists.org/w/images/3/3b/K'veer.jpg
and at the bottom of this page
http://www.florestica.com/hpotd/caverns_islands_and_great_shaft/kveer/index.html
You don't get that with the offline version.
