Great !! I hope you enjoy it, Marian thumbsup

And you'll probably finish it long before I do, Marian - even though you're starting it after me lol

[My "play" sessions are nowhere near as long as they once were.]

And thanks for your input, family yes

I finished Whispered Secrets: Into the Beyond this afternoon and had a good time with it. It's a good feeling knowing I have now played a game that had been languishing in my Purchase History for more than six years! laugh

I play these games pretty slowly, Mad, but right now I have more time on my hands than usual so was able to devote several hours to the game in one big chunk. It was nice to be able to do that. smile

Hey, a series I've played!! I'm pretty sure I enjoyed all of the Echoes of the Past games, despite having a problem with the 5th and 6th games which are the only two I have as downloads (the rest are on disc).

Haven't played Left in the Dark yet but I have it (of course).

Made it through the main game of "Echoes of the Past : Revenge of the Witch" but decided not to play the bonus game just yet.

I found the to-ing and fro-ing throughout to be way over the top. And so don't feel like yet another session of it right now lol

[Could have done with a true magic map.]

But I did enjoy the game otherwise thumbsup

I am glad that you enjoyed the game in spite of the excessive amount of to-ing and fro-ing. A break from that would definitely be called for, though, at this time. grin

I have to admit that I keep getting the urge to re-play The Last Dream .... Even though I only played it quite recently.
It made such a good impression !! lol

But I will endeavour to control that impulse and install a game from my "not yet played" stack instead - seeing as said stack has reached ridiculous heights again blush

I replay games fairly often, even though I do feel a bit guilty knowing that I have so many unplayed games that are waiting for me. So, I understand what you are saying only too well. yes

And yet others devour games the minute they are released laugh

I've never done that.

In the very early days of my game playing I had to save up if I wanted to buy a new game and so when I actually got one I had to make it last.
[ Which wasn't too difficult because I hardly knew what I was doing, anyway !! wink ]

But if I couldn't afford to buy one I had to trade sad

Happily, over the many years since, I've been able to "re-acquire" all those I once so reluctantly had to trade and been fortunate to be able to add so many more.

In fact even just looking at the shelves that house my game collection is truly one of my pleasures in life. [How sad is that ??]

Nearly comparable to the enjoyment of actually playing one lol

I have only replayed a couple of casual games. I didn't start replaying adventure games until fairly recently and the original plays were 10 years ago or so.

Mad, what you are saying about just looking at the shelves makes absolute perfect sense to me. I look at my shelves (physical and virtual) a lot also, especially when I am between games and having trouble deciding which one to play next! But - I used to have many, many crewel stitchery and needle point kits that I would stare at and imagine doing them and how they were going to look. Unfortunately, most of them only got stared at and never did get done lol but I really enjoyed looking at them like that.

There is a moral to that story but I'm still figuring it out!

I thought Golden Silence was the best of six I have played so far. Good, long game with a decent bonus game (if you buy the CE). The puzzles were a bit uneven in terms of difficulty, but I don't suppose it is easy to make them all equally difficult. A couple of the other games in this series are very easy, but all of them last a satisfyingly long time.
