The following clues form a word chain. The last three letters of one word or phrase form the first three letters of the next word, and the list wraps round from the last word to the first. Mostly straightforward with the odd one needing the Stitchionary, but there may be one or two hyphenated words, alternative spellings or short phrases in there, and remember it was compiled by a Brit. Quite a few there, so feel free to grab two or three -1. Position from which things are viewed standpoint -2. Law enforcement agency Interpol -3. Something that acts as a guiding principle polestar-4. Spider of the family Theraphosidae tarantula -5. Capital of the Mongolian People's Republic Ulan Bator -6. Type of filled pasta tortellini-7. Sometimes lost is where you need to be. Just because you don't know your direction doesn't mean you don't have one.
