Let's see if I can get at least most of these correct... Find a word and its container for each of the clues below. For example, "meat in a river (6,3)" -> T(ham)es. The numbers are the word lengths of the container and contained words respectively -1. Edge in a sailing ship (7,3) -2. Meadow in a poisonous shrub (8,3) -3. Enthusiast in a grape variety (9,3) -4. Part of a plant in a brass instrument (10,3) -5. Cold in a high pressure area (11,3) -6. Bidding system in a soft drink (4-4,4) -7. Rear in a state of being dowdy (8,4) -8. Roofing material in a knife (8,4) -9. Collection in a quiet person (9,5) -10. Switch in a supernatural being (9,6)
To waste one second of one's life is a betrayal of one's self. I wonder what's on television...?

Life is what happens while you're making other plans.
