I used this many years ago, and want to download it again, but I'm getting a warning that it's not safe to do so, suggesting that the download is coming from a site that carries malware. It's making me hesitate to download it. I know this aid is helpful, so I'm not sure what to do. Any suggestions?

Are we talking about this site? Just want to make sure that this is what you are talking about. I too have no issues with it - but I never try to download any of the pages. Are you using Chrome as your web browser, by any chance? Because Chrome is throwing up warning messages for many legitimate websites lately including Big Fish Games.

I don't even see an option to download anything from UHS. You just use the hints system. I guess you could copy and paste the text for a hint into a word document if you had to.
Also, as Marian says, try a different browser.

UHS has both a free version and a pay version. The free version is what you get when you click "View Hints" on the website and is viewable with your web browser (Firefox, Edge, Chrome, IE, etc.). The pay version requires a UHS reader and you can use it offline after downloading the entire UHS Hints for your game (click the link for "Download" instead of the one for "View Hints"). https://www.uhs-hints.com/readers/It looks like you can use the UHS-reader to download Hints (if you already purchased it and have it installed) and that probably won't trigger any warning the way Chrome might. https://www.uhs-hints.com/readers/

Wow, I never knew there was a paid version! I've always just used the hints.

Yes, Marlan, that is the site I'm talking about. I think it works differently from years ago. At one point, I had a UHS icon on my desktop which allowed me to view the game titles I'd downloaded, delete and download others. I don't remember having the choice viewing the hints from the UHS online. Also, looks like, downloading it is available for a free trial version, doesn't say how long that lasts.
Also, yes, my browser is Chrome, so your info about the warnings is also helpful to know.
Thanks for your help, everyone!

I did but don't know if it is still good. It looks like the last time any new hints were posted on the site was almost 5 years ago. You should be able to use the trial version for free also. I don't know how long that is usable. According to the information here https://www.uhs-hints.com/support/faq.phpthe trial lasts 60 days. There are older versions of the UHS software, https://www.uhs-hints.com/readers/but they may not work with the most recent Hints according to the information here https://www.uhs-hints.com/readers/archives.phpI did but don't know if it is still good. There aren't as many adventure games being made now as there were 20 years ago. According to Wikipedia, UHS-Hints website went online in 1998.
