Has anyone heard of this adventure game? Its new to me. The screen shots on Gamers Hell are absolutely awesome. Breath takenly gorgeous!

WOW Johnboy, Amazing place. I managed to get the official site and have already contacted the people there. Thank you so much for posting this info here. I am not sure if this is a game per se or an interactive journey - no matter I was entranced by the music and footage that I saw.

Most adventure games deal with spirituality and different cults. I think it will be an uplifting experience. Alice is pretty twisted, Dont you think? However a wonderful game.

Wow, I wonder what a Buddhistic adventure game would be like. Empty landscape to sit and look at? Temptations to calmly accept and not attach to? Repeating a quest over and over until you get it right? (Hey, I do that in games all the time already!) Saving all sentient beings? Would there be a four-fold way and an eight-fold path? This could be a really great game.
I just visited the web site (thanks for the link) and it is beautiful. No time right now to download the Quicktime movies.
Given that the makers of ROS and TOS state their religous pricipals in their documentation and given the recent Christian first person "shooter" in which you make heathen guards see the light, I don't think this game is any danger to gamers. Perhaps, Jean Houston is a little suspect but I am very intrigued. Of course, I am also a little biased as I am quite familiar with Buddhism.

The game in itself may be benign. I suggest, however, that you read the entire website to familiarize yourself with the philosophy of the developers, particularly as they talk about:

Just be aware of what you are getting into, before you get into it. Be aware of what the agenda of the group is. Find out if you can buy the game without being recruited into their group.

Better to look before you leap, and leap with your eyes open instead of closed.

After reading all available on the subject, I do believe it will be more of an interactive journey than a game. Still sounds interesting. We'll just have to wait till summer to see.

So are these "sensors" something you can plug into your joystick or USB port? Do you use them instead of a mouse? I have never heard of a game that used sensors before. Wouldn't good biofeedback sensors be rather costly?

Well I just had a delightful conversation with a woman at their offices who called me this afternoon. I am not sure what the final interactive experience may turn out to be at this point - but it seems like something different, interesting, definitely beautiful music and environs. I look forward to getting more screens and info on the game - which I am told will not be ready for release til this Fall.

Again - I am fairly certain this will be an intuitive and interactive experience rather than a traditional game with puzzles. But we have often said here that we are tired of the same old same old. I think those who have enjoyed Ceremony of innocence, Peter Gabriel's Eve and such creative adventures will enjoy learning what this new project is about.

Jenny this does appear that these features would be costly. If indeed we are understanding this correctly and I am sure we are. The wave of the future in gaming?

I think it would be wise to find out exactly what their interactive experience entails. Are you interacting online with their members? Who provides the biofeedback equipment? At this point they should know exactly what the experience will be, and be able to impart this information to interested parties, in a straight forward manner, when asked. They should not have to "get back to you later" after they consult with others of their group.

Will they give this information in writing?

Who interprets the data? Does it go back to their group? What does the group intend to do with this data? This is all psychological stuff, guys, and I would be very careful where I let it go.

Do you have to join their forum to play the game? Do they ask money from you for further biofeedback experiences once you do the initial "game".

Can they guarantee that there is no coercion to study their spiritual philosophy to play the game? Will you have to buy further literature from them?

I would also be interested to find out who the "Allies" are they mention on their website. Ask them to define the term "Allies".

How much personal information are they going to ask for before you sign up or buy their game? Can they absolutely guarantee that all of this remains confidential?

I've heard of playing a game using a device that attaches to your hands and responds to movements you make with your fingers. But with that device, the movements you make are as deliberate as clicking on a mouse button. And the device costs a good bit more than a mouse too.

This is the first I've heard of a game that responds using biofeedback sensors. It's certainly a interesting idea. At one time I was considering a biofeedback device to help with insomnia. But it was WAY too expensive.

As to whether it's the wave of future in gaming, you put an amusing thought in my head - imagine if a horror game operated off of biofeedback. If the player got scared, the character might turn tail and run away from the puzzle.

Aright - I am probably going to get a review/demo copy.. Somehow I didn't get the impression they were packaging it up with bio-feedback devices. There is a meta-physics behind the design team creativer drives - but unless I have lost it for good - I heard the software described as an interactive and innovative experience. I don't think this is a mind melding thought control game. I already granted that this will probably not be a game for everyone. But - truthfully no game exists that makes everyone happy. So - it's new, as I have new info, I will post it. The rest is up to you.

The whole thing sounds kind of strange to me...cults, biofeedback, metaphysics, religion...I just play games to have fun.

I dont know why some people are freaking out over this adventure title. To me The Longest Journey was a psycological and spiritual experience, for me anyway. I felt every human emotion we were given while playing this game. And I bet this title will probably do the same.

The full response is at the bottom of the page. It looks interesting but the price of $149.00 may put people off and it isn't really a "game"

JMK, I think you are right to mention caution. I initially did not think beyond the pretty pictures, and only after reading your concern, looked at some of the terminology to which you drew attention. I also noted that they mention an "events near you". Benevolent or not, who knows. But as already pointed out, that price tag will make it a moot point for many - me for sure.

JMK, I'm another one on the bandwagon with you. It is an adventure into Eastern Philosophy and metaphics. The whole drive of the software is to teach meditation and literally endoctrinate you into the teachings of Eastern religious practices. Who knows how the whole mind, body and, sensory things work in combo. It truly is not a game but a religious philosophy and one that I will say I do not adhere to as a Christian. (This is not meant as an attack to those who do, just a statement of my personal convictions).

Another note is that the company is out of Boulder Colorado, and Boulder has always been known to be one of the New Age capitals of the world, so this software is right in line with the idiologies supported in that community.
