This isn't a problem or an "I'm stuck", but more of a locale question.......

I preordered the game when preorders started and since this past week I finally got my new PC which can run the game, I have finally officially played (which I quite enjoyed it)


My question (mostlly out of curiousity and future reference), where does this game store the saved games? (I run Windows 10), and I have looked in W10's normal save spot (Documents), and found nothing

I hope someone will be able to answer your question, Jen. I don't know where the saved games are. Are you playing from a download or from a disc? Steam saved games are usually buried, but I might be able to dig something up.

I am glad that you enjoyed the game.

Sometimes you have to disable Hidden Files because they are in the APP DATA file. But I don't have the game, so I don't know for sure.

Marian - I'm playing from the physical copy

Draclvr - I always keep the hidden files unhidden



Edit: OOOOOOOOOOOH! I just found it!!!!!

In the appdata (*** is your particular user folder) C:\Users\***\AppData\LocalLow\HeR Interactive\MidnightInSalem <--- there's a saves folder in there; this game does saves like some of the Agatha Christie ones, with a save file and a thumbnail photo

Glad you were able to locate it! Good to know for future reference.

I'm unsure where the right area for this is, so I'll add it to this thread (since it's about Midnight In Salem)

I wrote out a walkthrough (by hand but tonight I'll finish typing it up) and I would like to submit it to Gameboomers -- how do I go about that? Is there a submission form I just didn't notice on the walkthroughs page?

i am playing nancy drew midnight in salem,
and I am stuck, I am in Lauren's shop. and I did about six herb remedys, and I got part one of the truth serum, and i am trying to find the key that is in the shop to open the box that is on the table, but i can't find the key, please help or give me a hint

Take a look at this thread. It may very well be a question of approaching it from the right angle.

If you still have trouble finding it, a video walkthrough might help you see how to do it.

Back away from the herb table and move to the right. There's a table off to the right of where Lauren stands and that is where the key is. It kinda blends in with the wood. The table has a jar candle and what looks line wine bottles.

I seem to recall your having this problem a few months ago. We are supposed to be getting a walkthrough up for this game pretty soon - until then, let's wait for someone whose memory is better than mine about this part of the game.

I can also link you to a YouTube video walkthrough if you would like - that might help.

When you saw the code, did you click on the post-it to get Nancy to make a comment? (I had that problem a few of the times when I played it). If you just can't read the numbers on the pad, I made up a little screencap and used red numbers

Yes I did have problems before and still having problems with it, i can't pick up the note pad with the code and can't use the key pad. i don't no what to do next.

There's probably some thing or things that you need to do first. Hopefully another player will be able to advise you. I can only refer you to a YouTube walkthrough at this time.

I did find this page - have you done all of this including the part about the sticky note?

yes i did, i have gone back and forth from the note and the key pad, i only heard nancys comment only once

I don't have any saves for this game. Let's wait and see what the walkthrough writer of the game has to say - hopefully she will stop in.
