I usually replay my Dracula Resurrection and The Last Sanctuary. But I just did a replay of The Last Sanctuary to help out another gamer, so I will look for something else. I might have to go check out Shadow Lake. Got disgusted with casuals for awhile, but maybe I should reconsider!

Since we are talking about games to play on Halloween, I moved your post over to Adventure Game Discussions, Leeana. smile

You have both mentioned some great games. I think my choice will be The Lost Crown - love that game! wave

I've had Dark Fall: Ghost Vigil downloaded and waiting to be played for awhile now, so I am going to try to start it today.

I'm going to start it right now. I am also in the middle of playing Alfred Hitchcock's The Final Cut and The 11th Hour which might be considered good for Halloween. (I also have 2 other games going.) It's so hard when you want to just play them all lol.

Leeana, I was not intending to recommend those 2 games. The Final Cut is old and I'm playing it in an XP computer. It's just a murder mystery but has some gore. It's not available for download anywhere that I'm aware of. The 11th Hour is available for download but is just a puzzle game. The story seems good but I'm not really crazy about the puzzles.

I think a replay of Phantasmagoria and Phantasmagoria 2 might be in order.

I might start the re-vamped Arkhangel game from Zack. Although I do already have 3 games running evil

Well I did start it and played quite a chunk and it worked well - apart from the save system being troublesome.

So I contacted Zach at Winter Night Games only to discover that this re-vamped version isn't "Windows7" supported ....

[I don't actually remember seeing that tit-bit of news in any of the ads but that doesn't mean it wasn't there, of course rolleyes ]

Anyway. It's back to the drawing board for me as far as a Halloween Game goes duh

EDIT :

The ad DOES say whilst Win7 is not supported it MIGHT run !! Just proves that I only see what i WANT to see !! blush

In what way is the save system troublesome, Mad? I suspect the game itself will run just fine on Windows 7.

I have the game installed in Windows 10 but am also curious what was troublesome with the save system for you. Do you still have your earlier version? Anyway, you will soon have your Windows 10 computer to play it on. yes

I am playing the mystery legends series....Beauty and the Beast, Phantom of the Opera and Sleepy Hollow. Beauty and the Beast is excellent by the way.....I also have Halloween Stories - Black Book and Invitation lined up. If I finish those I have Cursery: The Crooked Man and the Crooked Cat , Dark Cases: The Blood Ruby and Haunted Manor: Halloween's Uninvited Guest on standby smile

Yes. The game itself runs very well indeed in Win7 but every save made overwrites the previous one eek
And throughout this game, being able to reload a previous save could be crucial as there are definitely some difficult bits !!

And despite the entertaining story, oldbroad, I'm not in a mad rush to replay the original version.
Moving characters to where you wanted them to go was truly hard work - and camera angles also caused problems.
[No doubt I will cave in though and replay it at some time because I did mostly enjoy it :D]

Alas, my Win10 machine is not "imminent". My Son in Law is a key worker and with this dreadful increase of infections from the virus again, he is having to work all hours - so building a machine for me is not his highest priority slapforehead

Did Zack confirm that the saves are not supposed to work that way? I do hope they don't do that in Windows 10.

Sorry to hear that your new computer is being delayed and that your son in law is "having to work all hours". frown

Thanks for the info!

Oh, and as far as inquiring whether you still had the previous version, I was just curious, not suggesting you replay that one.

Hey all -

Thought I'd address Mad's save game issues on Arkhangel. This seems to indeed be due to the fact that the game is not completely compatible with Win7. The file structure from Win7 to 10 is different and Unity isn't completely backwards compatible. As we state on the itch.io and Steam pages:

"**AA was designed with Win10 in mind. While previous versions of Windows might technically run AA, they are not supported by us at this time so play on older versions of Windows at your own risk!**"

The game allows for 10 save game slots (including an auto-save slot that is always updating when you change scenes).

Hope that clears it up & Happy Halloween!
-z

At least when you do get it you know what game you can "christen" it with.

I've been playing Fantasy Mosaics puzzles.
I don't have the energy to start a full on adventure game.

What is the gameplay like in Amnesia Rebirth? Do you have to fight monsters, are there chase scenes or stealth scenes? Is it an action orientated game?
