I have a question for my Boomer friends about a type of game I'm not at all familiar with or whether it even exists.
My family members in Ontario came up with an idea to have everyone playing games on line together. The idea was that it would be table top games, but on line. Apparently there is such a thing, though my quick search of Steam and GOG didn't seem to come up with anything.
I'm talking about the more modern table-top board games like Settlers of Catan, but on line and multiplayer. Not D&D type tabletop games (though come to think of it a bunch of 60-80-year old fantasy and science fiction players might like that and I wouldn't rule it out entirely).
Dose anyone know anything about such a thing, and if so, what platform would it be on?
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Here's a link for one of the games mentioned in Drac's article, Ticket to Ride. This shows several different ways of playing it online.

Thanks!
I think that is exactly what they were looking for. I'll send that link off to my sister, who is trying to set this up for everybody.
As an amusing side note, someone had told my sister-- who is not and never has been a computer gamer -- that Steam might be the place to look, so she and I were scrolling through the games while we were talking on the phone. She happened upon a $15.00 deal for the Witcher games and became quite transfixed by it for some reason (probably a certain silver-haired hunk caught her eye). Anyway, she decided to take the plunge. I'll be very interested to see if she actually plays it and enjoys it.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Are you sure they weren't playing an April Fools gag on you. If it was anyone but my sister asking, I might wonder , but no, she was dead serious. She just isn't the pranking sort.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Which Witcher game did she get. Even the first one has some pretty hefty computer requirements!

She has the latest Mac, so it should be fine. It was on sale anyway.

The first one remains my favorite! It was my first foray into upgrading a video card and power supply in order to play a game!
