Great job Sherlock but how did I not get there I liked the punniness of many of these, so if I may be permitted to add my favourite perplexing question ever: Why do African elephants have big ears?

I think it is a reference to some things found in children's books by Enid Blyton, a well-known British author but not as well known here. A member of GameBoomers (lakerz) had some of the computer games based upon these books up for sale on eBay this past month, links listed in the Trading Post forum post here.

Yep, thats it Marian. I should have thought about Noddy perhaps not being universal. Blyton's books were everwhere here as a child.
