Windy day today, doing nothing much but hanging out and playing my game. I think my cat is depressed. She knows something's badly wrong with her dad, and she sits in a sad little heap at my feet all day. I've been trying to get her to play, but she only bats at the toys. I can't get her up and running around. She's also put on a ton of weight this year - normally I'd be walking her up and down our big steep hill, but of course this year she's been refusing her harness and just runs away, so I haven't been getting her out there. I'm afraid I'm going to have to put her on a diet. She will only eat one brand of food and if she doesn't get it she will howl non-stop all day. It's going to be noisy around here.

I'm sure she knows something is not right. Our Bloodhound gained 15 pounds last winter to 120 pounds, so she is also on a diet. Of course, she is NOT amused, but I do my best to feed her smaller meals twice a day so she doesn't feel hungry. Poor thing! But being fat is so bad for these giant breeds of dogs. Good luck with your kitty, hagatha!

Good morning to you all. We had a good amount of rain durind the night. Good for the grass that was pretty yellow than green. Nothing particular this week. The usual work around the house for the flowers beds and I may start to cut some edges. A good week to everybody Take care.

We got rain last night too, Chief. VERY much needed. Now I can pull/chop weeds in my flower beds today! Going to be hot and steamy though...

We had a torrential downpour a couple of days ago here. I was hoping they got some of it in the interior, where all the wildfires are raging, but it seems that it remained mostly dry in there.
Today I'm rounding up all of the fancy clothes I have that I never wear, and getting them ready for the consignment store. The rest, the gently worn but not-so nice stuff goes to our local Hospice Society store. I'm like a packrat with clothes - I buy good quality and hang on to it forever, but a lot of it just isn't practical for where we live and it just hangs in my closet year after year. I'm not giving up my pink brocade Fluevog mules, though. That would be a bridge too far.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Hot and humid and muggy here, but it looks pretty out there as long as you are inside under the AC. Hope you are all having a most wonderful day!

Yes, those are the hot pink, baby blue and gold mules with the blue heel that you see as soon as you google them, called Majesty. Fluevogs are usually rather oddball and clunky, but that particular shoe design, which is pretty elegant, is my favourite and I have several different pairs, including three pairs of Chelsea-type boots in the same style. Most comfortable shoes I've ever had and I wear them all the time. Canadian company, started in Vancouver, now worldwide.

The boots I have are blue and gold brocade, red, black and blue satin, and black suede. They're all very, very girly, but beautifully made and so very comfortable. At first I thought I'd never wear them here, since the dress code in this town actually includes men wearing pajama bottoms to the grocery store (no lie) and a lot of people here consider matching sweatpants and hoodie to be a suit, but of course every woman who sees them comes over to ask where I got them.

It's been an evening of torrential rain and tornado sirens blaring. We are all safe though and I sure won't need to water this week. Still operating at a day late and a dollar short mode. Boarder goes home tomorrow night, school is going back next week so my days will get longer with clients returning. I was caught up for a day last week. Have a great night all!

Speaking of Scottish Breakfast tea, my friend who visited last week is originally from Scotland, and he was overjoyed when I was able to offer him a cup of Scottish Breakfast tea. He had no idea you can now get it on Amazon.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.
