High voltage coffee - sounds like just what I need! Leaving shortly to take a friend who doesn't drive to a doctor's appointment.

High voltage. Yum.

I like coffee that grabs you by the shoulders and slaps you across the face a few times just to make sure you're awake. grin

I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

We have another sick cat. My brother is going to attempt to take her to the vet tomorrow. This is the one he's tried to take two prior times over the years but was unable to get her in the pet taxi. Please cross your fingers for us that he can get her there and that she can be fixed up. It's a urinary or kidney problem of some kind and we have had bad luck twice already with this type of issue.

I feel your pain. My vet tech friend suggested the "kitty burrito" method. If you can pick up kitty or snatch her up and wrap her tightly in a bath towel, you can get her in the carrier.

Oldbroad, I hope you are able to get the kitty into the pet taxi. We had a cat that, even with the burrito method, we were not able to get him into it. He would panic and scratch and we were at risk of serious bodily injury if we had persisted. When we had to move, my son sat by the cat carrier for an hour and a half waiting for the cat to go into it voluntarily with the carrier door open, which he finally did. It was a real headache. Obviously this latter method does not allow for appointments. rolleyes

Ugh. We also have a heat warning from today until Sunday. It went up to 100 degrees here today, and it's supposed to get worse. We NEVER have temperatures this high, and now twice in one summer.

I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

I think I'll pass on the "maple bacon" coffee, soot!

Hagatha, that's just horrible. It's been so dreadfully hot here too, but we're more or less used to it and we all have central air conditioning. Can't imagine how awful it is for you.

Made two 1-gallon batches of fresh salsa yesterday and am letting the ingredients "talk to each other" overnight. Dropping one off at the American Legion and dropping the other off at Elmer's Tavern. Then we're going to walk down to the Mexican restaurant for supper. Had a storm last night, so at least the temps are cooler.

I'll have about a pound of that Maple Bacon soot. Love it!

Well, my brother and kitty are at the vet. Will update later.

I like maple bacon, but not as my coffee! So HAPPY you were able to get kitty to the vet. Was there blood involved?!

So glad the cat made it to the vet. My previous girl used to get urinary tract infections all the time when she got old and it was really painful for her. We must have taken her to the vet five or six times in her last year, just for that.

I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

LOL, I missed the Coffee part, however, I do drink Maple Bacon Coffee also. I don't need a pound of IT though.

There was blood in her urine, at least at times, so please keep your fingers crossed.

Oh Drac - you probably meant was there blood involved in getting her in the taxi. No, I don't think so. It went semi smoothly I think.

Hagatha, I am hoping it is an infection and can be cured.

Yes, since I have had a couple of those cats! It never mattered if I got clawed before, but now that I am on a blood thinner, it's a major bleed!

Hopefully a round of antibiotics will fix her up. One of my 4 year old barn cats also had crystals in her urine, so she is now on a cat food that costs $35 for 6 pounds! I recently had to put her sister down because she had a huge bladder stone probably from the same crystals. But Voldemort - yes she was a girl! - couldn't be caught, so I was never able to get her treated until the last couple of weeks.

My cat did not fall for the towel trick. Fortunately she didn't go into hiding after he tried that. He was able to scoop her up fairly easily which is something, since none of these cats likes to be picked up. She sure was yowling once she was in the taxi though.

Glad you were able to get kitty to the vet - I hope that antibiotics will take care of the problem.

I am too oldbroad ... liquid medicine is easy once you know how ... pills may be problematic with a kitty unless she likes treats think

The weekend has arrived yay

So we got the results of John's latest MRI today. The cancer has basically not grown much in over a year. The real issue we're facing is pain management -- he's frequently in very bad pain -- so our doctor is going to try some other options. It's too bad the cancer stopped growing after quality-of-life issues became a problem, but at least if we can get the pain down to a more manageable level we can start to do stuff again. He is able to walk with just a cane now, which is great because I was getting concerned.

Yesterday a pod of about 7 Orca went past, including a young one, and today we saw a mother Humpback and her baby just offshore.
