How can you download the same BF game to two different computers ??

Can each computer have its own account ??

And if so, could someone please tell me how one goes about acquiring different accounts for different computers think

Thanks, Mad grin

I don't see why you can't download the same game to two different computers; I believe I have done that in the past, although it was a long time ago. Some people have both a laptop and a desktop and use them interchangeably for downloading games.

You can definitely download the same game to different computers but not at the same time as far as I know. If one is on your Windows 7, you just go into your account on Windows 10 and download it there if you also want it there.

But, I don't believe you can play the game through both computers. I mean, you can play it on both computers at the same time but not the same game. It would be playing the same game on two different computers. (You cannot start it on Windows 7 and then continue it on Windows 10. You would have to restart the game from the beginning.)

Currently, games I download from BF go to a specificly designated location on an external drive connected to my Win7 machine.

So I presume, then, they would go to another specifically designated location on my Win10 machine - if I had an account for each machine.

My main question is how to open a second account ??

And can I use the same email address for both ??

(I wouldn't attempt to play the same game on the two different machines at the same time, oldbroad. Even my scant techie know how would deem that to be impossible eek)

To create a second account, you would need to use a different email address and password.

To move back and forth between the accounts, you would just need to sign in to the Game Manager with the account you wish to use, and then log out and log back in with the info from the second account if you wished to use that one instead.

You don't need an account for each machine. I have 2 physical desktop computers. One has W7 and the other W10. They are hooked up to the same keyboard, monitor and mouse with a KVM switch. I have 90% of my BFG games on my W7 machine because some older games have issues with W10. I also have, with the same account, some BFG games on my W10 machine. Just download the BFG app, enter your email address for your account and password in the app and you will be able to download any of your games. Make sure you set the correct drive letter because the app defaults to the C drive.

If you created another account, you would have to buy the games all over again.

If you own a game, you can download it to two different computers without having to have a second account. I do it all the time, downloading to my Surface tablet. Just go to your purchase history and download.

What Draclvr said except if you want to download the game to a different location you will have to change it to download to that other location.

Also, what jboliver said. A different account means a new purchase would have to be made.

And of course, as Marian said, you still have one Game Manager that you sign in and out of with the different account but it is only going to show which games you purchased under that account (go back to jboliver's post).

When I mentioned that you can't play on Win 7 and then switch to Win 10 I guess I was thinking of somebody maybe starting the game on their desktop and then wanting to continue it on their laptop regardless of OS, which I'm pretty sure would not work.

Good info, everyone.

The main reason it would be a good idea to open up a second account is if you have a Purchase History that has 900 games +. There is a Game Manager bug that hits people randomly and it can strike when you reach anywhere between approximately 900 and 1200 games. This bug is a major nuisance and suffice it to say it would be wise to take steps to avoid it by opening up a second account, but only if your Purchase History is in the danger zone. Several people here on GameBoomers have had this happen to them over the years (myself included) and taking preemptive measures and opening up a second account before this happens is a wise thing to do. That way you don't risk being afflicted with this bug, which basically leaves you with a broken Purchase History, one in which you have to jump through more hoops in order to download your purchased games.

Thank you ALL for your responses. MUCH appreciated smile

As I understand it then, I don't need a second BF account to download games (I already own) to my Win10 machine rather than my Win7.

(I, too, have a KVM arrangement .. Incorporating monitor, mouse, keyboard and speakers between Win10, Win7 and WinXP.)

But I WOUID have to change the download destination location of a game any time I switched to one or other of my machines.

Is that right ??

(Sorry for the "shouting" but I can't make italics work - as an alternative - on this iPad.)

Thanks, Mad 🙂
