I had an adventure game some time ago that had a sequence that involved NPC's living in nest like houses on a cliff face. The gameplay involved climbing ropes and ladders to get around. Any ideas please?

Hi, I moved your post over to Adventure Game Discussions. Hopefully someone here will know what game this is.

I am wondering about Riven. It certainly has spherical houses on a hill and there are ladders. I am not sure about climbing ropes.

How does Next Life sound ?? That had small huts placed on an Island with various people in them and a Tower on a hill with cliffs etc ..

It didn't get a lot of recognition but I thought it was pretty good.

It's not the years honey, it's the mileage!

I recently played that game sureshot and I also thought it was pretty good (except the timed arcade bits). They actually might not be bad though for somebody more capable of doing them than I.

I did think it could have done without the timed bits. It was known by the name Reprobates in some places if you think it sounds like your game ChuckO.

I'd say Chronicles of Mystery series, The Tree of Life.
