I'm playing on Adventure mode and I can't get out of the cistern. I've dropped down into a room with a grate on the right, three water spouts above it and a hole halfway up the wall directly across from where I entered. I've knocked down the shelf. Turned the wheel so water has entered the area. I have the boards floating but not sure how to use them. Do I need to use the bricks at all? I've looked for a walkthrough in adventure mode for this area but can't seem to find one. Can anyone help?

It looks to me like the walkthrough on this page details what needs to be done when playing in adventure mode. See if that has what you need. If not, we can look for something else.

I was hoping to find a walkthrough that shows me how to place the boards and bricks to enable me to climb to the opening across from where I entered the room. This particular walkthrough just says I have to use the boards and bricks but not how. But thank you for finding this for me.

I just don't have time right now, but as soon as I can, I'll load up the game and see if I have a save in the cistern. I played the game twice, once in Adventure mode.

All I need is a screenshot of the completed bridge or platform needed to get to the otherside. If that is not possible I will take the save game. And thank you for doing this.

Thanks, Drac!

I am sure I would need help in adventure mode too, Mad.

OK. Loaded the game and OF COURSE there is no save at the cistern. However, as I remember, playing the cistern wasn't much different except you didn't have any monsters. This one requires a lot of climbing and releasing a gate and going back down and turning the wheels to get the platforms where you can jump across them. I would just follow the walkthrough for the regular game and see how it goes. This one took awhile...

https://www.ign.com/wikis/amnesia-rebirth/The_Cistern

Oh, wait. Maybe this isn't the huge cistern. Maybe it's just the small one earlier in the game. Is that correct, lspace? If that's it, can you tell me what part of the game this is? I remember I had to build something to climb up to get across, but I can't remember how I did it. You can grab and hold on to the bricks and boards to move them to build a ramp or something.

Yep, that's where I'm stuck. Not sure how to build something to get up to the opening.

So, have you tried picking up the items and trying to build something like a ramp? Can't remember if you need to have it empty or not. If you could tell me what part of the game you are in, I could try to find it.

There is a video walkthrough for adventure game mode that starts here. You will just have to figure out which part of the walkthrough you are in, and hopefully that will help you out.

The part where lspace is, isn't in that particular video and I have no idea which one of the others it is. That's why it would be so helpful if we knew just where she was. There are a bunch of videos out there that are divided up into parts of the game. But I just can't remember where this is!

I am at the part of the game you just described. I know I have to build a ramp or platform of some sort. I've tried to in different ways but haven't had much success. That's why I am looking for a walkthrough to show me what the finished ramp/platform should look like and whether I flood the place before or after building. I will check out the link Draclvr provided to see if it will help.

That link doesn't have the part where you are. Can you tell us which part you have just finished... that might help because I have no clue where you are. A walkthrough might not help because for me anyway, I just had to keep trying different things until it worked.

This is a list of parts of the game with both text and video walkthroughs.

The Cassandra/The Desert
The Cave
The Dark World
The Deeper Caves
The Desert Path
The Fortress
The Arsenal
The Cistern
The Oasis
The Alchemist's Chambers
The Tomb of Tin Hinan
The Portal Chamber
The Hunting Grounds
The Catacombs
The Theater
The Factory
The Lower Factory
The Village
The Tower
The Throne Room

I'm in the Cistern part of the game (tunnels and rooms to explore). I've solved the water tank puzzle (series of 3 wheels that had to be turned). Now I am in a room that can be flooded by turning a wheel. There is only one way out and it is the opposite side of the room on a ledge. I can pick up 5 bricks. I can knock down a shelf using one of the bricks. That gives me some planks. All the walkthroughs I've found so far do not show how to use the bricks and planks ie: how to arrange them so I can reach the ledge.

This is not the cistern part of the game... That is a HUGE circular room. You are at a puzzle that has a room which can be filled with water. If you can tell me where you came from before you solved the three wheels, that will help me narrow this down. In the meantime, all I can tell you is that there is really no specific solution to this puzzle - you just have to keep experimenting with different combinations of bricks and planks. If you do it just right, you may be able to use the planks to get across after filling the room with water. Maybe the link Marian posted will help.

The walkthrough video Marian posted yesterday showed how to position the planks so I finally made it across! (it took me awhile to find that part in the series of videos that were posted) Thank you Marian and Draclvr for all your help.

Whew! I found this one quite tricky too! That was the problem - I wasn't sure where you were and it was hard to pin down anything in the videos.

The game sounds quite interesting and tricky.

Really glad you were able to get past your stuck point, lspace! thumbsup

And now I've entered a series of timed underwater tunnels. :-( The woman can't hold her breath longer than 15 seconds........she's no Guybrush Threepwood. At least with this puzzle I know what to do, it's matter of perserverance.

I would really have to like a game a great deal to put up with those timed sequences...but this one certainly comes recommended. smile
