I am about to start replaying Syberia 3 - I seem to have forgotten a great deal about the game - and would like to find another walkthrough to replace Mr Bills excellent version. Has anyone any suggestion where I can find one? I don't really want a video walkthrough.

I did start the game but have come to a standstll at the dam puzzle.
I have sorted out the top 2 levels but the third level when I have to partially open the 3rd level has got me stumped.

I can get the arrow on the gauge very close to the green sector, but I cannot get it in. It is almost right, but the final move that I make causes the arrow to flick from just outside the right of the green sector to the other side: I cannot fine tune it to put it in the green sector.

Am I missing something or is it just extremely ticklish?

Take a look at this here.

It looks to me like the order of the levers you use (from the top) is: the first, the third, and then the second.

You might need to go back to a previous save before you have started this part, though.

Managed to succeed.

The first walkthrough that I tried did not seem to be right - it seemed to suggest that I should close the top lever by turning the wheel anticlockwise until it locked shut, then turning the next wheel clockwise until it locked to open the flow, then half closing the third wheel. But that did not work.
I had to turn the top wheel ACW till it locked, then turn the third wheel CW until it locked, then turn the second wheel CW to about half way. Then it worked.

That is good news, Peter.

I have found that looking at more than one walkthrough for a particular game can be very helpful sometimes.

Steaming ahead now!

The one difficulty that I have is that everything is so dark on the Krystal, so much so that I cannot see where I am going. Is there a way to brighten it up?

If there are no in-game menu options to raise or lower the gamma/brightness, then you should probably post in Glitches about this issue. One of the techies there should be able to offer some suggestions.

Hi All !!

The error in the solution of the Dam puzzle is no longer, the correct solution is in the walkthrough on our website.

Petert, one of my solutions for a screen that is dark in just one part of the game is to play it at night with all the lights turned off! That really seems to help when I don't want to change the gamma for the entire game.

Marian, I remember MANY years ago, someone was playing Dracula The Last Sanctuary which was a very dark game and no gamma settings back then for the old CRT monitors. She and her daughter were playing the game by throwing a blanket over the top of the two of them and the monitor! Her husband came in the room and had quite a sight to figure out!!

Thanks for this Marian.
I had tried to increase the brightness on the computer but it shows me that the brightness is at maximum. Indeed, none of my other games have the problem, so it seems to be confined to this particular GOG download.

I will ask them if there is a fix, but doubt that there is.

Folks, I got this from the walkthrough author. .... "If anyone is having trouble with the darkness ...... Try looking in the lower part in the back of the engine room, there you can find an oil lamp.

You can read about it in the walkthrough http://www.pcgameswalkthroughs.nl/ The part after the monster has attacked".

Maybe it can solve the problems with the darkness.

Draclvr - yes I am really in the dark, metaphorically as well!
It's hard enough as it is, this game. I have resorted to slavishly following a walkthrough, but still come up against difficulties. Currently, I am in the warehouse trying to get the coal out, and failing dismally.
I can't see how to get the cart in the right place to access the chute. I followed the W/T and I think I am outside number 2 coal chute, but cannot seem to be able to get a closeup of the chute. As soon as I click on the dot, Kate goes to the end of the room, and I cannot get to the chute.

Also, when can I expect an automatic save. I haven't seen one yet, so I am always using 'continue'?

On another forum I read that the game only has autosaves. Therefore, there are no manual saves where you can do the saving yourself.

You are in a part of the game that gave a lot of people trouble, made worse by the control scheme. There are video walkthroughs I can point you to if you think that might help.

Problem I now have seems to be that I cannot get rid of the iron bar. When I try to approach where I have to use the chute, all that happens is that Kate bashes again. I cannot seem to get rid of the bar so that I can then fit the chute.

petert

PS I am aware that the game has this horrible autosave system: I was just wondering whether anyone knew when I should expect it to occur.
