This morning, Malwarebytes has started blocking all of my regular sites. This includes my email, which is a disaster, since I have absolutely vital correspondence in the that I have to get to today, as in right now.

It's also blocking the Washington Post, the NY Times among other things.

I have no idea how to add a website to the list of exclusions. There seems to be a spot to add a URL but I then go up to the URL to copy it, the Malwarebytes screen shuts down.

It's actually blocking you and keeping you away from them?

My Malwarebytes has gone crazy today also and it seems to involve Google somehow. It is showing my news sites, my Norton, Steam, Firefox, and Microsoft communications Apps all "outgoing" or something like that but I can access all of these sites.

Yes, I did some further digging and it's blocking Google.

I started to think it was a global problem when I tried to open Malwarebytes and it blocked itself!

I don't use Google for anything, so I'm not having any problems.

I wasn't using Google today yet. This started when I was trying to read some news. I did Malwarebytes and Norton scans and then I restarted my computer and did the scans again. I think that helped or maybe I just haven't hit anything else that pinged my Malwarebytes.

I only use the Bing search engine, so I've had no issues. The map included in that link you provided, oldbroad, shows the outages to be scattered. But Vancouver is one of them!

What about your email Drac? You use Gmail right? I don't, so I don't have that problem.

Anyway, this is just something to wait out? Hagatha shouldn't be trying to add anything to the "exclusions" right?

Yes, it's all working properly again, thank goodness. I tried to contact MWB directly and eventually they put up a notice about the problem.

I have 3 email accounts including a Gmail account which I don't use very often, but I don't use Google for anything else. I checked and that account was fine. But I also noted on that map that there were no outage reports in Missouri. I'm sure MWB was getting deluged with messages about it! We may or may not find out what the Google issue was.

Update: Malwarebytes has announced that the issue is now resolved and issued a software update. However, some people are still reporting problems. If you’re experiencing issues, try to update your copy of Malwarebytes.
