I like my coffee quite sweet, but fortunately I have never really liked sweet and/or soda drinks: growing up, my problem was always finding a substitute for the Coke/Pepsi usually on offer for kids, settling on Tonic Water back then and now going for Orange juice with a dash of Grapefruit juice and about 65 % water.
Like some of the others posting here, I have found most or all sugar substitutes unpleasant to taste.
On the other hand a splash of Maple Syrup on my porridge instead of Demarara sugar is one of my addictions, and of course pancakes or waffles covered with Maple Syrup and some whipped cream for some over indulgence...!
