Hello, GBers! With BrownEyedTigre's gracious blessing, I'm pleased to introduce the launch of a brand spanking new website called the Adventure Game Hotspot: https://adventuregamehotspot.com/For many years I was the editor of AdventureGamers.com, but now I'm thrilled to be building what I hope will be another invaluable resource from the ground up. We'll have regular news, reviews, interviews, trailers, and more, along with a weekly (or near-weekly) podcast, plus an upcoming new museum-like gallery devoted to game collectors. Rest assured, we're not competition for GB, but an ally working toward the same shared goal: promoting the genre we love. The more adventure game content, the better! The site is still in its infancy, of course, complete with hiccups and speedbumps and other inevitable growing pains. (If anything looks especially wonky or acts weird at any point, it's one of those as we keep tinkering under the hood!) But we're excited to begin, and hope all our visitors enjoy watching it grow and develop in the coming weeks and months. Perhaps the even bigger news is that to celebrate the launch, we're hosting a 12 (not a typo – TWELVE!) hour YouTube livestream event all day Saturday, October 15th. (That's like, tomorrow, or perhaps today by the time you're reading this.) It runs from noon to midnight Eastern time, or 9am to 9pm Pacific, or I believe (don't quote me on this, as time zones make my brain hurt) 4pm to 4am UTC. We want everyone around the globe to have a chance to experience at least some of it live. Our guest list will be a who's who of adventure game royalty throughout the day, including Ken and Roberta Williams, Dave Gilbert, Ron Gilbert and Dave Grossman, Lori and Corey Cole, and many more, including smaller indie devs with acclaimed new games on the market. You can drop in any hour of the day and be sure to encounter an amazing guest or two. The livestream can be found here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6kLTxxzgIGE&ab_channel=WeirdGamingAdventureThe whole show can be viewed after the fact, but it's all the more fun to experience it live, so we hope you're able to join us!

I have been watching it too. It's been great so far. And I even got to chat a little with Ken Williams on the livestream.

I watched almost all of this. I had to jump out to feed the horses but came right back. It was amazing!! To SEE and hear from so many of the writers, artists , the ones who created the game, publishers of the games I have played to the new games yet to be played . Adventure Game Hotspot did a grand job. Interviewing and keeping it interesting for 12 hours!!! If you didn’t get to see it live you may want to go watch the video. Maybe next time we can get Mikael on there 😍

Thanks for all the support! Very much appreciated. I think the livestream went well, although twelve hours is such a long time, I might have only been partly conscious for about half of it. But seriously, it was a pretty amazing day with surprisingly few problems in a steady and seemingly endless stream of great guests. If anyone is interested in seeing it after the fact, you can watch it at your leisure anytime at the link in my original post, or in Orion's post further down. (Both go to the same place.) The site will only get bigger and better from here, so I hope you bookmark it and visit often!

Singer, I was thinking while I was watching it how you probably had a hard time not having your eyes glaze over after several hours - not because anything was boring but rather that such a long length of time would test the mettle of anyone, no matter how interesting the subject matter. Nevertheless, the whole thing came off in a very professional manner and there were surprisingly few (if any) hiccups. You all deserve a very big pat on the back. It really was a monumental undertaking. I also loved your comments about Legend Entertainment; when speaking of adventure games and their companies, it has surely been underrated over the years.

If you are interested in listening to Ken and Roberta Williams' interviews Kens starts 1:28:50 min into. He talks about Colossal Cave of course. He mentions that in VR it will take about 40 to 50 fifty hours under the hood to complete giving some idea how long the game will run. He says VR was such a cool experience. I am looking forward to that. Thinking about updating to a newer setup for CC. If I had to take a wild guess on a delayed release it would be delayed because of the VR aspect. Gotta be a tough thing to code. His interview lasts about 30 min
Roberta's interview starts 4:59:00 lasting 30 min as well. She says playing CC back in 1980 started her game designing career and Sierra Online. Just think......CC started her game designing twice. Now if that isn't something I don't know what is. She mentions when they decided to start designing again, going with CC, it was like being thrown in to the ocean not knowing how to swim. They had to learn the new technology. And what did they decide to do.....go even deeper.....design not only standard but VR as well. They were both born for this
It is believed that if CC is a BIG HIT, which it will be, their phones will be ringing off the walls with all the big Publishers and "high rollers" knocking at their doors. This is just the begining of a new era with Ken and Roberta Williams. Having got a taste of the new technology and their love for adventure game development....well.... I believe they are back and it's about time
Having watched the 12 hours of interviews let me say I have never seen anything like it. What a delivery. I hope there are many more interviews to come. What a great start...Congrats and thank you Singer!!
It's never too late!
