Did the best game win?

Their "Game of the Year" was Elden Ring. You can watch the announcement 3:18:15 into the show. You will see the orchestra that was used for some of the music in the game play first and then the announcement

This was the first time watching those awards. It was certainly fun to watch and that orchestra was amazing!

That show was excellent wasn't it Winfrey. I too had never watched a game awards show. It played out like the Academy Awards only better. I was actually surprised to see all the different categories up for grabs. All the videos played not only for nominated games but for the "World Premiere" games, newly announced for 2023, were so well done. Had me wanting to play them all

Ken and Roberta Williams were announced to the stage to announce the nominees for the category "Games for Impact" - "Games that changed the way people think and feel about the world". "As Dusk Falls" won the award. Their announcement starts 1:54:27 into the show. It was also anounced at that time that Colossal Cave will release Jan 19th. Nothing else was said about CC

Having watched the entire Game Awards it gave me a new understanding and appreciation for game development. Some of these developers don't mess around. They go all out. Orchestras , using actors , using the best tech out there along with the best graphics artists they can get their hands on

The first 31 minutes is the "Opening Act" giving out some awards with the actual Game Awards show starting right after. The first award for "Best Performance" was announced by Al Pacino. The show just took off from there

A Plague Tale: Requiem was nominated for 5 awards but did not get an award. Having been nominated for quite a few awards.....it has to be a very good game. Stray the same

God of War Ragnarok pretty much took the show winning a few awards but Eldin Ring won "Game of the year"
