It’s a modern, cartoony 2.5D adventure (hand-drawn 2D HD backgrounds and 3D characters) and will be released for Windows, macOS, Linux, Xbox Series X/S, PS5, Android, iOS, tvOS and Samsung Family Hub Refrigerator (just kidding…unfortunately Samsung thought the game was too hot for their fridge). With full mouse and keyboard, touch and gamepad support on all supported platforms.
The games story is about the quest for a missing cat, some more cats, crazy rich people and hard-working people, even more cats, capable and not-so-capable movie businessmen, the joys of experimental vegan food, serious police work, and lots of other crazy stuff. Oh, and did I mention it’s also about cats? Why so many cats I hear you (not) asking…well…because I am a crazy cat-person. And the minion of many furry lords. Well, story-wise the game contains everything I love and like. From my love for animals to my love for Star Trek and other nerdy things – it’s all in the game. All the things I grew up with in the late 70s and 80s. Yes, I am really that old. In fact, I am SO old that I know firsthand from the 80s that a C64, a hamster, and a microwave are one hell of a combination. ☠️
With “Scott Whiskers in: The Search for Mr. Fumbleclaw”, I have fulfilled a long-standing dream. I have been working in the games industry for quite a while and have already released several smaller and larger projects with my own one-man company Fancy Factory and some other companies. But nothing as complex as “Scott Whiskers” yet.
It is quite a task to do all the conception, writing, programming and marketing. And sadly I have absolutely NO artistic skills at all. 😁 And I have first and foremost my skilled nephew Daniel to thank for providing me with the beautiful 2D backgrounds for this game for free. Without him, I would never have been able to afford this dream. Yes, this is really a “nearly no budget” project. And you’ll notice every single cent which wasn’t spent! Promised! 😉
And – due to the limited budget of the project, there will be a Kickstarter campaign in the near future. And I would be happy to have you on board for it!
Hopefully I will be able to translate the game into some more languages (it’s definitely available in English and German). And a full dubbing would be great too.
