Help! Does anyone know how to get the cheats to work for "Halo - Combat Evolved" on the PC? I have seen some information about mofifying the target line in the shortcut but I can't seem to get that to work for me.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hope it helps. It's only for the Custom edition tho.

Okay, I make this modification to the target line and use that shortcut to start the Custom Edition version of the game. But on the menu that comes up there is only the option to play Multiplayer, not Single Player as I had hoped.

Is there a way around this? I don't want to play on the Internet - just my own little corner of the world. Any further suggestions? I feel that I am missing something that I should know.

I may be wrong, but I think Custom Edition is multiplayer only and I've read that there are no cheats for single player.

Are you stuck in a particular spot?

there are cheats for single player halo because i used them when i played.

now what i don't remember is if used the console cheats or if i used a trainer (because the console cheats would not work)

Zan's got it. The console commands don't work but the trainer does. I just downloaded this one and it works:

You just start it, load Halo, and punch keys 1-4 for different cheats once you are in-game.

Hey, thanks a million folks! That sounds like the way to go.

I am not stuck yet in the game but was hugely annoyed by the Flood enemy. I sometimes like to turn on God mode so that I have more time to gaze around and enjoy life instead of being continually worried about surviving. Although one could argue that the adrenaline rush is what it is all about.

Next question - it looks like the latest trainer is the +4 version for the v. 1.04 patch. If I am using the v. 1.06 or 1.07 patch for the game, do you think that the +4 trainer will still work?

I guess one way to find out is to try it. I'll keep you posted on the results.

doubt it very much it would work. if you have the 104 patch i would just use that or play unpatched with the 1.0 trainer if you really need the cheats.

You are right - the Trainer +4 doesn't work when the game is patched to the V. 1.06 level!

I understand though that if the game is patched only up to v. 1.04 then the +4 trainer works great.
