For nostalgia's sake I decided to replay the game. I'm beginning to regret it. You know the part where Ned is supposed to invite Deirdre to lunch and then while she's gone get her fingerprints AND look in her notebook and find the traffic violation? Well, I didn't think about the notebook. Nancy need the violation as part of her evidence and Ned can't get Deirdre to leave again. Nor can anyone else.

This is the second older game i've played where I forgot one tiny detail and couldn't go back. I uninstalled the last game. Do I need to drop this one too or is there a way to redeem it?

I feel your pain, Melia, and hope someone can help you out. This is exactly the reason I stopped playing these types of games... forget one tiny detail and you can't do anything but start over.

I have never experienced a game-stopping glitch or a progression blocker in a Nancy Drew game, have never had to start over, and have played every one of them multiple times. I would say that the best help you are likely to find would be to do a search for your problem on the Her Interactive message board. There are people who post there who have played these games even more than I have, and it seems likely that you might come across an answer to your question there.

I am not saying it isn't possible to have an issue like this with an ND game, though. But of all the old adventure games I have played, this series in my experience is one of the least likely for this to occur. I would never have played them as much as I have if this were not the case, as I hate that sort of thing in an adventure game. I do hope that you haven't been this unlucky. frown

NDLVR, a GameBoomers member, seems to have a lot of saved games for the Nancy Drew series. I know of a site that has some but unfortunately none for Alibi in Ashes. Perhaps she could help you out. Maybe she will see this thread.

May be easier and quicker to reload a save if you have one that won't have you replaying too much. ?

I uninstalled it. Maybe I'll try again later. I'd gone too far to go back.

Sorry to hear that, Melia. I'm sure it was frustrating!
