Hello everyone not posted for a long time still playing lots of games but never been stuck until now, this game is exactly the same as murder in the abbey trying to save as walkthrough says left double click till changes colour and wait till goes back to game. My problem is it won't go back to the game tried and tried but it won't do it can anyone help. Thanks.

Hi, it's great to see you here after all this time! Glad to hear that you are still playing your games. I hope all is well. smile

The only thing I could find about save-game issues and this game is the thread from the Steam forum here. Maybe the last post in that thread will be useful? Sorry I can't be of more help, but maybe someone else will know more. I have not played the Director's Cut.

Well, this is sad to hear. I have this game installed and waiting to be played. I also have the original game though so I guess I can just replay that one. I would not know how to follow that suggestion in the discussion.

Barlouwin, I am going to move this thread over to Glitches; someone there might be able to help you with those Steam instructions that person posted.

I'm kind of buried right now, but I will try to take a look at this later tonight or tomorrow. I'm kind of curious about how it works too!

I had this issue.. My fix was to move the game folder out of steam and then launch the game from within the folder from it's new location. The game is actually DRM free so this will work. Hope this helps

Where did you move the game folder to, barlouwin? The thread doesn't mention where and neither does Jimboy, but my suggestion would be to move the folder to My Documents. Then open the game and find the executable file and launch the game from there.

May I ask Draclvr, how do you move the game folder? Do you copy it or "include in library" (documents) or what?

You should be able to copy and paste it to the file folder you choose. Let us know if it works.

Sorry I should have mentioned... I created a folder on my C drive called games and I just copied and pasted the The Abbeys folder into that "Games Folder" I created.. So for me it's C:/ Games

Some operating systems already have a folder on the C:// drive called Games and that might be a good place too if you have it. Thanks, jimrh69!

Hi everyone I did what you both said and copied/pasted the whole folder and moved it to documents, tried the game but still not saving. Sorry to keep pestering you about this game thank you so much for your help. Im sure I did everything correctly, my game must be a dud one never had problem like this before. Wii see what you all think.

What could happen - on starting an entirely new Abbey installation .. is if just the SAVE folder was deleted but everything else left intact .. and then the game was started from the beginning and a first new save made ??

[That has worked for me in the past because the game simply created a replacement SAVE folder by itself and I was able to carry on playing.]

It was with a fresh installation of the game.
[Which was what I did.]

That's pretty good advice from Mad. Check in the game folder and see if the Saves file is there.

Not sure realy, just installed the game again and it worked. I'd already done that a few times before with no luck but this time decided to work.

Sometimes it's just best to not ask why! If it works, it works!
