Good Morning and Happy Thursday...almost the weekend! As always I have that delicious extra dark strong brew waiting to be consumed with Connie's yummy bagels and danish! Staying home today and in doors as we are having a heat advisory today and expecting strong storms this afternoon. A good day to play games and work on a puzzle...it is great to be retired! Gerry

It's sunny and windy today, nice and cool. Looking ahead, moving day will be sunny with no rain which is good since two friends will be transporting some boxes in their pickups.

Good Morning and Welcome to Friday and the start of the weekend. We have another dangerously hot humid day ahead with feel like temps over 100 degrees! Hope you all are staying cool. Double dark brew is ready along with strong tea. Enjoy! Gerry

Good morning, all! Same here, Gerry - except the forecast real temp is 102 degrees. Can't imagine what the feel-like temp will be! I got a plea for help at Longmeadow, the horse rescue, yesterday afternoon. The caretaker who lives there broke his ankle and won't be able to do the night closing for at least 5 - 6 weeks. Since I live less than a mile from the Ranch, it's so easy for me to run down at 9:00 and feed and check on everyone. So, I'm down there last night and the temp was STILL 94 degrees at 10:00!
Down to the last 3 days for the Germans. We are doing our traditional steaks for supper tonight.
It's Friday! Here comes the weekend!

Have a great weekend all! I can see that Drac and hagatha are both counting down the hours for different reasons! We usually complain about too much cool damp weather here, but not these days when a lot of folks have more heat than they want to handle... And some thoughts to make you smile: Civilization in 2023 Our Phones - Wireless Cooking - Fireless Cars - Keyless Food - Fatless Tyres -Tubeless Dress - Sleeveless Youth - Jobless Leaders - Shameless Relationships - Meaningless Attitudes - Careless Babies - Fatherless Feelings - Heartless Education - Valueless Children – Mannerless We are-SPEECHLESS, Government-is CLUELESS, and our Politicians-are WORTHLESS! Only in This Stupid World ......do we leave cars worth thousands of dollars in the driveway and put our useless junk in the garage. Only in This Stupid World ......do drugstores make the sick walk all the way to the back of the Store to get their prescriptions while healthy people can buy cigarettes at the front. Only in This Stupid World.....do people order double cheeseburgers, large fries, and a diet Coke. Only in This Stupid World.....do banks leave vault doors open and then chain the pens to the counters. Only in This Stupid World ...........do we buy hot dogs in packages of ten and buns in packages of eight. Only in This Stupid World.....do they have drive-up ATM machines with Braille lettering. EVER WONDER Why the sun lightens our hair, but darkens our skin ❓❓ Why don't you ever see the headline 'Psychic Wins Lottery' ❓❓ Why is 'abbreviated' such a long word ❓❓ Why is it that doctors call what they do 'practice' ❓❓ Why is lemon juice made with artificial flavour, and dishwashing liquid made with real lemons ❓❓ Why is the man who invests all your money called a broker ❓❓ Why is the time of day with the slowest traffic called rush hour Why isn't there mouse-flavoured cat food ❓❓ Why didn't Noah swat those two mosquitoes ❓❓ Why do they sterilize the needle for lethal injections ❓❓ You know that Indestructible black box that is used on airplanes? Why don't they make the whole plane out of that stuff ❓❓ Why don't sheep shrink when it rains ❓❓ Why are they called apartments when they are all stuck together❓❓ I like this one!!! I took a quick drive down to the new place this morning to make sure I have my route planned exactly since I'll have two howling cats. On my whirlwind tour with with my realtor I wasn't really noticing how very rural the area is -- it's a ten-minute drive through farmland off the highway, and then all of a sudden you go up a slope and you're in my neighbourhood, packed with lovely houses and people walking everywhere. On the way in there's what looks like a very nice newish custom-built pub called Rusted Rake Brewing; the reviews for the food are very good and it's 5 minutes from my house. It all feels very strange, though.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.
