Quote
Midnight Girl is a 2D adventure game for mobile, PC and console.

The game takes place in France in the mid-Sixties. The story, mood, and style of the game are inspired by the city of Paris, Belgian comics and Sixties cinema.

The late teen tomboy Monique enjoys life as a cat burglar in Paris. She ends up in jail after a heist gone wrong, and here she meets an enigmatic prisoner and fellow thief. The prisoner knows of precious diamond - stored in a secret underground vault in the heart of Paris. They agree to try and steal the diamond together, and this leads our heroes on a quest through a catholic monastery, a Parisian metro station and the Catacombs.

The game focuses on story and atmosphere. The gameplay mixes elements of stealth, discovery and puzzle solving.

Happy Sleuthing!

There is a demo available. After playing the demo, I noticed there was no way to save. I asked a question about saves on Steam's discussion forum for the game, and was told that it only saves at the end of chapters. The demo appears to be Chapter 6, or maybe only part of it, and it took me 45 minutes to complete it.

Thanks for the warning, Uncle Reg. Hate that kind of saving 👎

Thanks, Uncle Reg. Hard pass on this because of the saving - or lack thereof.

After I posted here, the developer showed up on the Steam forum and said that they are working on autosave inside the chapters. If that gets worked out, I will buy it. The demo was very good.

Maybe some additional comments on that Steam forum might cause some increased effort to be directed toward achieving that goal, especially from someone in a position to speak for the GameBoomers community.

I am playing the game now. It's true you can't save within a chapter, but to me anyway it's not a deal killer. I just allot enough time to play a chapter at a time. They are pretty short. I am 35 minutes in and am at the start of chapter 3. It's kind of clever...not too hard...but it's fun to explore and figure out what to do. The hardest part for me is remembering where to go once I've found an object that can help me...each chapter is a different setting and chapter 2 at least was a bit of a maze.

Thanks Uncle Reg and KatieB for the info. Another game with save issues although I will say short chapters are a plus being able to save at the end of each. Please let us know if there are anymore issues beside saving. It is getting very good reviews

I very much enjoyed the game. The last "real" chapter (the very last is an epilogue), I believe it's chapter 10, is more complicated and longer than the others. I would say most chapters are well under 30 minutes, and that's without a walkthrough and with exploration. The game gives you enough gentle hints ("it looks like it would break if I hit it with something heavy") that it rarely has "what do I do" head scratching moments. The lack of in-chapter saves turned into something of a plus for me. I allotted "quiet time" to sit and play...a bonus in itself!

Really appreciate your thoughts and info on this one. Under 30 min chapters will work only saving at their end. Good info

Thank you KatieB
