If ever a game needed to be lingered over, this might be it.

SEASON probably won’t be for everyone; a little too contemplative, a tad too sedentary,
not enough to do and too many bits of exposition. But it will be for almost everyone that
likes to explore, to discover what awaits, where the journey is all and the endpoint is
just where it takes you.

You play as a young woman from a secluded village exploring the world by bike for the
first time, collecting memories before a cataclysm washes everything away.

I would highly recommend watching a couple of the videos of this game at Steam. They really makes flotsam's description come to life!

Excellent review flotsam. This one sounds very relaxing. Beautiful scenes that I wouldn't mind recording one way or the other myself. I am very curious as to how this evacuation fits in and will go/end. Thank you for drawing me in. Your reviews always seem to do that

Thank you Drac

ONE thing that's important to me as an older gamer is being able to save at will during a game, and use multiple save slots to re-visit places or chapters in a game. I take it that the game has only one auto-save upon exiting? If so...that's unfortunate.
Also: I tried to run the demo (I don't have a controller or gamepad)....and could not get any controls to work with my M/KB at the time....demo wouldn't even allow me to get out of a journal entry back into the game with my M/KB. Even the M/KB settings (in game menu) in the demo didn't show a control scheme for M/KB. How did you get the game to work with M/KB only? Is the full version different in this way from the demo?

robedits, I downloaded the Demo and it definitely only allows the use of a controller. I have one, but prefer mouse and keyboard.

You are right that it only has one save spot robedits but until you leave the valley you can go back to anywhere else that the mood takes you. I confess I didn’t try and leave the valley so can’t say whether that is possible (I suspect not given the story arc) but while I too prefer to be able to save whenever I like, the nature of this game meant it didn’t really seem to matter. I accept though that you might still feel differently yes
And I wasn’t aware the demo insisted on a game pad so thanks for that detail wave

THank you, flotsam! Just to confirm re. KB/M, I DON'T have any controller or gamepad...just a KB/M with my desktop PC. I read your (as always, informative and usefully descriptive!) review; and it seems the FULL game WILL play using my M/KB only, correct (even though that was not the case with the demo)? Wanted to make sure before I purchase it. I think I can get past the one save (although I intensely dislike games without multiple save slots ) as long as I can use my M/KB.
Thanks as always for your great reviews and helpful advice!

robedits, if I remember correctly, this is you on the Steam forum? Anyway, in this discussion, the developer says the game is playable with keyboard/mouse.

Yep! Sure is! I saw that (it was from January); I just wanted to find out from someone who actually played the game whether I could actually use KB/M.
