Really needed a nap

You sit there stone-faced
As if I'm not here
A purr, chirp or long meow
And still no smiles appear.

I know a hiss
Won't foster a kiss from thee
So how 'bout just a headscratch
To itch this garden flea.

The cat in the lap
Was happy at that
Basking in the morning sun

Whose cat is that?
I think I know
He seems quite happy though

I watched him sleep
And left him alone
And wispered a quiet hello.

Well, 8 PM came and went while I was packing boxes of Christmas gifts to be shipped out today. Christmas snuck up on me this year.
