A quiet rainy day at home for us. No white Christmas for us, fogfighter! It's almost 60 degrees F here this morning... just wrong.

It's raining heavily and windy. My sister is coming back over on the ferry from Vancouver -- hope her ferry doesn't get cancelled.

Good morning! Ah, the day after. Peace and quiet!

Since we had already done the Christmas rib roast dinner with my son and his family on Saturday, yesterday I went totally non-traditional and did some reverse seared BBQ pork steaks on the pellet grill. With a little potato salad, it tasted might fine in the middle of the winter!

Hi ho, everyone. My sister and her husband were here last night for an ersatz Christmas dinner of roast chicken. Today has been absolutely lovely. I've been for two hour-long walks today. Got to get back into shape.

That sounds VERY lovely, hagatha! I got in a nice walk down to the woods and back today and it felt heavenly to get moving after too much eating the last few days!

I spend quite a bit of time in the little marine park near my house. I think I might put John's ashes in the water there. It's in view of where we used to go fishing 35 years ago, right in the middle of the Passage in our 14-foot boat just off Sangster Island. It's a lovely spot and I think it's the right one.

That sounds like the perfect place, hagatha!

I put on some coffee, but you're on your own for goodies this morning! The Break room is very empty!

I DID get some pictures of caramel cinnamon rolls from my two sons! They both are using my mom's old recipe with all her scribbles in the edges, so my sister and I say they are channeling Grandma in heaven! My son in Denver is taking all the kids skiing this morning, so he is up early getting his in the oven for the perfect breakfast!

SNOW! It just started snowing!

I've got some seasonal Kenyan coffee beans right now, very expensive but awfully good. It's a nice treat.


It's another rainy day. I'm off to Home Depot to grab some packing materials for a friend who doesn't have a car.
