What Have You Done Father? takes inspiration from the classic Noir movies popular in the 1940s, such as the I Confess series by the infamous Alfred Hitchcock. The game has emphasis on good and solid storytelling and compelling narrative with the addition of a dark twist and unexpected turn of events. Your task is to play as the protagonist Father Mathias Marton, a revered priest caught in a web of forbidden desires and sinister events. You must unravel the mysteries of a corrupt rectory, confront your own demons, and navigate the blurred lines between sin and salvation. Along the way, you must deal with the encounter of Marina, a stunningly beautiful temptress. Who was she? Why does her presence still linger? How did it all happen? Why did you taste the forbidden fruit? What have you done and what can be done to redeem yourself?
What Have You Done Father? offers a classic psychological narrative journey that seamlessly blends exploration, cinematics, light puzzles, and immersive dialogues. Unveil the layers of a haunting history as you navigate the shadowed corridors of the rectory. Will you leave behind a stain or redeem its tainted legacy? You might learn the truth by engaging with the enigmatic residents of the rectory by diving into their past through journal entries and notes. And other clues might be discovered by researching the troubled history of the rectory by finding the old photos of the former priests alongside their life story. In the end, your destiny is your own: will you emerge cleansed or succumb to the shadows that lurk within?

It's another great "Darkania Works" game. I'm in chapter 5 so far. Splendid graphics, well optimized (even on my 5 year old desktop PC),engaging storyline. (Check out their previous game, Last Days of Lazarus).
Unfortunately, WHY? has NO manual saving or checkpoint saving, so if you have to quit mid-chapter you have to start the chapter over once resuming the game. But there ARE chapter replays, so that's good. Note: there's nudity and simulated sex in one chapter (tastefully done,though, and not outlandish). Definitely worth the $$, IMHO. Gorgeous-looking game.
